Had loads of fun playing this game in Idle Thoughts’ thread, so I thought I’d give it a whirl and give Idle Thoughts a chance to play!
The point of Scatt’a’gories (re-named based on the original thread’s misspelling after a warning from The Lawfirm of Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Eggs, and Spam) is to come up with 12 unique answers for each question, all starting with the same letter. Whereas in Family Feud, you want your answers to be the SAME as everyone else’s, in Scattagories you want them to be DIFFERENT than everyone else’s because if your answer matches another person’s answer, neither of you get the point. Then again, you might want to put the obvious answer - what if no one else chooses it?
The game is also more fun if you think of answers quickly and do NOT research them. If you played in “real life” there’d be a 3-minute timer to beat and no reference materials. So try to be cool and think of stuff off the top of your head. It’s totally ok to pass on an answer! Remember - the MC (me) does have reference material so don’t make shit up.
The game has one round, with 3 sets of 12 questions, each set starting with a different letter. So if the letters are A, B and C you will give 12 answers that start with A, 12 answers that start with B and 12 answers that start with C.
**Very Important: Please do not put the questions in your answers. **
Answer like this:
- Apple
- Arby’s
- Automobile
NOT like this:
- Name a type of fruit - Apple
- Name a restaurant - Arby’s
- Name a mode of transportation - Automobile
AND NOT like this:
- Name a type of fruit
Apple - Name a restaurant
Arby’s - Name a mode of transportation
Automobile
Scoring for this game is hard enough!
The game will end at 9PM EST on Wednesday, January 23. Any answers given past then will not count.
