Scheduling the MMP

Started with an 0800 6-U girls game (no score kept at this age, but we won–because everybody does keep score), then a 0945 boys 10-U game (we lost 1-6; doubting coaching ability), then and 1100 girls 10-U (tied 2-2; coaching ability came back). 1400 (after a 20 mile car trip and a quarter pounder at Mickey’s place) I refereed for nearly 2 hours.

Oh, did I mention the temperature went from 78F (at 8am) up to 91F this afternoon?

Have just about enough ambition to move the mouse wheel and type this. Might consider moving to a nice bath in an hour or so…oh, and the world didn’t end.

red, good on ya for helping the environment.

Looks like everybody is getting pie tonight…except me. :frowning:

Your female parent utilizes military foot wear.

The dishwasher has finished cleaning our dishes. The bed has fresh sheets. The punkin pie was yummerrific! So was the homemade whipped cream.

I think it’s time to crawl into the clean sheets with a book and read till I fall asleep.

**

But where does she use them?
I did a smal {as in <100 participants), local 5k today. It was publicly advertised ( as in open to the public, we’ll take anyone’s money}, at a Catholic school/college campus, in memory of a female student who died of {something}. I started in the third row but there really wasn’t anyone directly in front of me. After the professional race director gave her instrux, the megaphone was turned over to the girl’s mother, “We that you all for coming, it means a lot to us, blah, blah, blah. Before we begin, a prayer”.

Not something generic, like " Dear Lord, let everyone do well today." but a Hail Mary! To anyone in the crowd who isn’t Catholic (Me!) this was extremely awkward & uncomfortable. I talked to some of my running club members afterwards, with the exception of someone who lived in TX, where they sometimes did it, no one else had ever heard of it & all agreed that it was inappropriate.
I may need some ice cream, or a beer to get over it. I know a [Del]root[/Del] beer float! (Is too a thing &, no, I’m not the one who invented it.)

Spidey was it a Guinness Float? I can work with that.

Took Pepper to the dog park today and there were too many big dogs! She spent a lot of time hiding behind me. I then took her over to the pond they have there for those who like water retrieval. Best. Thing. Ever. (If you are Pepper.) Apparently there is water and you can jump in it, and then jump out, and then jump in, and then run in circles, and then dig. I came home with a wet, happy pup. :stuck_out_tongue:

Metal Mouse I have also noticed that the world didn’t end. Of course, I didn’t think that a planet could just sneak up on us, but call me a skeptic.

Oh, almost forgot, we bought a 27 foot Airstream. I waver between excitement and creative swearing. It sure is pretty though.

Sunny, a 27-foot Airstream? Y’all planning to do a bit of travelling? And glad the pup enjoyed the day.

Spidey, don’t think I’ve ever heard the Hail Mary used outside of home or church…very strange they couldn’t come up with something generic.

Going to start the dishwasher and clothes washer here in a bit, both need doing. Otherwise using Sunday to recuperate from Saturday.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudyish with a predicted high of 89 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. We shall deheathenate (I have ush duty for the second Sunday in a row which is OK cause I said I would) and then have a <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> N.O.L.

Since the world did not end I guess I really will have to mow da yahd one day this week.

Sunny when is the first road trip?

Spidey could have been worse. She could have prayed an entire Rosary.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then I suppose I should purtify for deheathenization.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Having grown up Catholic, I’m pretty sure generic prayers are frowned upon. Recite it the way you learned it or you go to hell. Them’s the rules! :stuck_out_tongue:

I had a night of a lot of waking and sleeping, and I gave up at 7. Higgs has been out and fed, all the furniture, etc, is back in place since I’m pretty sure the carpets are completely dry, the kitteh kibbles dispenser has been refilled (they don’t like the fancy-pants over-priced kibbles that got passed to me after 3 other cats rejected it) and the dishwasher is emptied. When **FCD **finally decides to move, we’re going to get breakfast. Beyond that, no plans, yet.

My sister (not the crazy one) and 2 of our cousins are trying to put together a family cruise in 2 years. We’ve declined as we’re not interested in going back to the Caribbean, especially when it would involve driving to FL for a 7-day cruise - we’d have to take 2 days to drive down and 2 days to drive back. Nope, ain’t gonna happen. Now, if they were planning an Alaska cruise, we’d think about it.

Yeah, I’m a grouch. Happy Sunday! :stuck_out_tongue:

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall vacuum, then watch some football.

Shall we got off your lawn?:stuck_out_tongue:

sunny, the pond at the dog park sounds like a lot of fun. Ours just have trees and double fencing with a few benches for the [del]slaves[/del] owners. I grew up with a 16" Airstream from the fifties in our back yard as kind of a spare bedroom. I hope you enjoy your.
spidey, Having grown up RC, I’ve never heard the Hail Mary used like that at a public gathering. In church, yes. In school, yes. But not at public events.
Up, breakfasted, caffeinating and getting ready to do the Sunday chores.

I just finished prepping the guest room for our house sitter - fresh sheets, some space in the closet, and I dusted  and vacuumed. I even set the clock radio, which will work unless we have a power burp in the next 3 anna half weeks. I’ll scrub the bathroom right before he gets here and put out fresh towels for him.

I also threw away some stuff that was sitting in the guest room waiting to be thrown away, and I put some other stuff in the back of the car to be dropped at the thrift store. I vacuumed up the dog hair in the bathrooms. GO ME!!!

The downstairs has been vacuumed and shampooed, the catbox scooped, and the trash taken out. I consider that enough work for a Sunday so I’m going to sit on the couch under a pile of lonely cats for the rest of the afternoon.

I’m going to assume the afghaning position on the recliner and hope the cat leaves me alone - he snagged my work twice yesterday. Idiot cat.

Moomm The cat is only following the rules. The people must pay attention to the cats not their own projects. There is also: any moving object is a toy and subject to immediate destruction.

OK, I’m back. I distracted by the hubby.

The first trip shall be in two weeks. The kids have a three day weekend from school. We’re going to head over to the coast, visit the aquarium, fly kites, play on the shore, and do other beach things. I need to start picking the next few after that. Basically the kids have three long weekends in October (reasons unknown), and we’re trying to take advantage before the weather gets bad. Other options are Detroit Lake (likely) and possibly a trip up to Tillamook, or down to Eureka.

After that, we’ll have to see. It’ll mostly be short trips during the school year, so Detroit Lake and the Coast for the most part.

I finally watched the last episode of the most recent season of House of Cards. Wow! Just wow.

Work on the lap robe continues. It’s been a good, restful afternoon.

Supper will be chickie nuggies, instant smashed N.O.T., and some sort of veggies on the side. Pie for dessert. Yum shall ensue.

Howdy Y’all! So far deheathenization, ush duty, N.O.L., and nappage have been achieved. I need to clean the collard greens I bought yestiddy so I can get the icky stems into the trash as tomorrow is trash pickup day. I am unmotivated to do so but I must, so I shall. Really.

I’m working on recovering from the race. Fortunately my knee cooperated during and really only hurt before and after. I really did mostly fast walking, though, so I’m sure that helped.

Today I feel like I’ve been flattened. I was planning on running a more local 5K this coming weekend, but I’m not sure. No interesting prayers at my race, Spidey.

Kitchen is clean, work clothes are washed, and carpet vacuumed. Making herbed poke chops with orzo with butter and white wine sauce and spinach and tomatoes. Watching the Packers game.

GO PACK GO!!!

Glad you survived the race, sticky

We had a church shooting ten minutes down the road this morning. :frowning: Not being safe in your chosen community is a terrible thing.

Breakfasts/lunches are prepped, the puppy crate cleaned, towels washed, dried, folded and put away, puppy bathed. I also picked up prescriptions from the CVS inside Tar-jay, got another $5 gift card and immediately spent it on a new collar and some small, squeaky tennis balls for the pooch. My puppy is growing up; he’s gone from an XS collar to an S.

Supper is almost done. Paprika chicken and spinach, Mediterranean beet salad, brown rice and chablis (you know the rule: a cup of wine in the dish, a cup of wine in the cook  ).
