Scott Plaid, Stand Up or Shut Up

I was thinking more along these lines.

Ohh, okay. This is what it reminded me of.

Oh goodie. I was really afraid this thread had died.

Say, where’s Scott these days? Did he finally figure out that he hasn’t been winning?

I just wanted to chime in and apologize. It appears I may have been in error after all. Possibly.

There is still hope, though.

{{{{lack of thread death}}}}

JSexton mind if I ask what you’re talking about?

Funniest thing I’ve read all day. Glad to have you back on the board, man.

Asking moronic questions in GD…like it even matters anymore. Only a few more hours until Scott will feel free to unleash the full fury of his idiocy on the GD forum.

Read your bible, brothers. The end is nigh.

Sexy here paid for our Scotty’s membership.

We forgive you, as long as you promise not to do it again.

You omitted the proper placement of the comma:

{{{{lack of thread, death}}}}
Hmmmm… I’m getting inspired…
Lack of thread – death! Ah,
Losers all, we genuflect
To Scott Plaid: winner.

I’m obviously new here. I’ve been following this amazing thread from the beginning, and have been wondering for a couple of days if and how threads die? Or do some last forever?

And Scott is still violating his agreement in GD. This combination statement/argument/question begins with as true a statement as I’ve seen from Scott. [post]6353302[/post]

Great gusts from an ass
Smell awful and make no sense
Scott keeps debating.
You make no sense, Scott.
Unintelligible crap.
Preview is your friend.
No one but crickets
Left to withstand the nonsense.
Scott is the winner!

Not sure if this is a whoosh or not, but I’ll treat it like you were serious.

Basically thread death happens in 1 of 2 ways.

  1. The thread falls off of the main page due to lack of intrest
  2. Closed by the mods

Threads that have fallen off of the first page are allowed 1 bump per thread for revival purposes. Board etiquette stipulates that it is bad form to bump a thread that has been dead (fallen off the first page) for 3 months or longer.

Yes, there is still hope.

Hope that you won’t do it again when his sub expires!

Thanks, Greathouse. I was serious. If I had looked at the first page for the Pit, noticed that there’s no mechanism for going on to page two, and actually thought about it a bit, I might have realized that threads without recent posts would disappear. I probably should have looked for this or asked in ATMB. But again, thanks.

There is. You just need to set it to some time period beyond the last single day.

Also, from what I’m aware, threads can be bumped as long as they’re less than six months instead of three months, IIRC.

You’re welcome. Always glad to help.

There should certainly be links at the bottom to go to the other pages of “dead threads”. Not sure why they wouldn’t show up for you. Curious.

Damn, Finnagain, you type fast.

I touch-type at about 85 wpm. Phear my 1337 haxor skillz!

FTR, my last post was supposed to have a smiley at the end. Didn’t wanna come off as more of a dick than normal (if possible).

See, it gets kind of sticky though. If you bump the old thread people will bitch. If you start a new thread on the subject people will bitch. It seems to be a pretty fine line as to where the cut off is. I personally try not to bump anything older than 3 months just to be safe. Maybe I am remembering it wrong as far as it being an official sort of thing; rather it may just be my personal preference.
