Scott Plaid, Stand Up or Shut Up

And this surprises you why?

I’m not kidding, it’s been mentioned in this thread. He won’t capitalize “bush”, for example.

Well I love bush! I can’t get get enough bush, but I’m not going to capitalize it either unless it’s a proper name or… oh, nevermind.

Yes, “get get”. It’s um… a colloquialism. Yeah that’ll do.

I don’t know about you guys, but I just can’t wait until Scott posts his book report from his trip to the book store this evening. I’m sure it will be…uhm…interesting, to say the least.

So you are asking people to believe that YOUR reading (which has been shown to be utterly unreliable) Cite of an article in “Giant Robot” magazine is correct?

The only issue I could see that seems to mention Japanese Internment Camps is #28, the description of which gives us:

This means to me that you are relying on your memory of a 2 year old article on the art of former detainees (based on the short description above).
My assumption of this article is that at most it consisted of one or two sidebars and that you have used your excellent reading comprehension, coupled with normal memory failings to misinterpret this article into something more to your own liking.

You are now asking us to believe your facts, despite all evidence to the contrary, whilst not actually realising that even the cites that you have supplied dont tally with what you claim they do.

If I were adjudicating this “debate” Bricker has one by a country mile, obviously YMV and as such you’ll probably just ignore this post as more Scott Plaid bashing.

I believe that the name you are trying to think of was Brian :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh and a quick thanks to all those who mentioned the Whose Line questions game, it reminded me to pick up Rosencrantz & Guildernstern are dead

19 pages. I wonder if Scott’s learned anything yet.

Did you know it’s possible to snort half-chewed banana out your nose?

Not fun, and a helluva mess on the keyboard, but possible.

My cat snores.

This thread must be used as a touchstone, a standard to point to. Whenever a newbie (or an oldtimer, ftm) ((hell, anyone!!)) is close to going down the same delusional path, we must relate their current posts and behavior with this debacle.

Libbers, you should see the sleep machine I have to attatch to my cat’s face every time it naps. Damn cat apnea…

Indeed this thread shall rise like a penis from the groin of Achilles.

I joined on 6/30, and this thing started on 7/1. Two weeks of quality entertainment, plus an education about the Pit and its denizens. This thread alone has been worth the price of admission. My cat also snores.

But I haven’t got a cat! What now?

Okay, I’ll bite…

Who’s Beryl Mooncalf?

A question please.
Is there any way to recover from something this devastating?

I haven’t been here very long either and I don’t feel I’m in any position to pass judgement on Scott or anyone else but I’m curious.

I’ve seen you guys be very tough on certain people in certain situations and as well, very forgiving and understanding at other times. A trait much to be admired. But has Scott gone too far? Will he ever be given a semblance of credibility again?

I ask this because I know how ardently he wanted to belong. It was obvious from his first post on his first day. The way he jumped right in and the seemingly partial acceptance he was given must have been very gratifying for him. Now that is all gone. Somewhere, deep down, below all the craziness that we saw, somewhere in the pit of his psyche, he must feel crushed.

And before you call me out for being a bleeding heart, believe me, I’m not. I learned a long time ago, you reap what you sow. But as a newbie and as this is my first experience observing something like this, I’m simply curious.

I’d be interested in your comments.

Thanks, Duke. I thought maybe it was another poster, but a search turned up nothing. Because I didn’t realize there was an underscore in the username.

People here are rather passionate in both attack and defense. All he need do to regain his reputation is change his behavior. Nobody has been blasted here more than I have, but I have also been praised. Former enemies are now cyber-pals. Case in point: ETF I have gone round and round, but we finally buried the hatchet and we’ve not had a problem since. It’s all up to Scott. Like I advised him earlier, a man who humbles himself tends to be uplifted by others, but a man who barges into a room with hubris will be smacked down in short order. He decided himself to spend this whole thread making an issue out of his being right. It is therefore being right, and not getting along, that he values. And that decision is his alone.
