It’s weird. And impressive. I walked up Queen St and everything looked normal except for the US flag on top of that hotel at the front of the station. But as I got to George Square there were things like SEPTA maps, yellow traffic lights and Philly street signs all over the place.
I’m somewhat familiar with Philly from my time in PA - this was just weird.
I’ve been watching for this popping back on up on the board to no avail, so thought I’d have a go at trying to summarise where we’ve got to.
So far wanting to go for it:
Hermette - proposed the idea, suggested Glasgow or Edinburgh
Notquitekarpov - Edinburgh
Meurglys - Edinburgh

Baron Greenback

So I make that a select band of eight of us, four with a preference for Glasgow, three with a preference for Embra, one with no stated preference.
Maybe putting this back to the top will get a few other interested parties -otherwise who wants to grasp the nettle and start suggesting dates and venues?
Well, obviously Edinburgh suits me. Friday night in September would be good too - and I was going to suggest the Guildford. Handy for bus and train. And I know that they’re the usual venue for TripAdvisor Edinburgh meets, so we might be able to book an area like TA do - if there’s enough of us that warrant it.
Actually, I’d prefer Glasgow, and couldn’t do an evening in Edinburgh at all, sorry!
If we’re doing Edinburgh, a daytime meet would suit me much better. Daytime’s better for Glasgow too, but I could at least do early evening over here
You’re the one that opened up with the suggestion of Edinburgh as an option hermette!
Unless you are talking weekends then I cannot imagine many will be able to make a daytime meet - a thing called work getting in the way don’t you know?
Likewise, logistically it would be tricky for me and Parkhead to get home from an evening event in Edinburgh, daytime would be much better. We’d have to get back not only to Glasgow, but beyond. An evening event in Glasgow is possible, but we’d still have to make sure to catch the last train out to Hamilton, so earlier is better.
