What I find interesting is that there’s this massive pit thread, yet no comment from scrambledeggs.
I’ve emailed (via a mod) my offer of funding his dopage, and mentioned (within the wider context of eating seagulls) that this pit thread exists. Yet nada from the eggman, kookookachoo, although the new threads keep-a-comin’. Correct me if I’m wrong, as I’ve less than 100 posts, and am therefore both naive and pure of heart, but wouldn’t most people comment on their own pitting?
As I mentioned earlier, I love a testable hypothesis, and this is getting interesting.
No vanity searches? No return to a thread one has begun? No email? Maybe scrambledeggs is just enjoying causing a kerfluffle, or maybe he or she is a sock, after all.

Still, curiouser and curiouser. Looks like he started on the 18th of June, so we have more than 2 weeks so see what happens. My offer to fund his dopage for experimental purposes remains open. I also note that I was wrong as to my post count. I am not as pure of heart as I thought.

There’s an “anti-Guin brigade” for a reason. It’s not even the fact that your post count is over 30k, it’s that the majority of those posts are pointless pittings, “ooh ooh i agree!” posts, drive bys in the middle of 5 page threads where you never show up again, sharing for the 102nd time that you still have nightmares about working at Kmart, blah blah blah BLAH.
I’ve made some of the same points others have in this thread, sorry for that, but damn it feels to good finally say it.
I fully expect this post to either a) be ignored completely or b) responded to with “and you are? what the FUCK did i do to you?”. I rarely post, no one knows who I am, and even more rarely do I personally attack another poster. I don’t post often because I try to say something only when I feel I have something to add to it, and by the time I get there it’s usually too late. Since I despise me-too posting, I usually don’t bother. But after 8ish years of reading this these boards, I finally snapped.

What’s IDBB? A Google search doesn’t come up with anything racist that I saw (on the 1st page at least).
I think it was a poster named I Dig Bad Boys or something like that. (I can’t remember her being a racist, though).

[IDBB was a poster named I_Dig_Bad_Boys, rechristianed 80shairmetalmaven, and was a poster who complained constantly about her life and her sucky job and despite many dopers attempt to reach out and help her turn her life around she ignored it. And I think her threads are lost(I can’t seem to get to older threads anymore) but anyone who followed her posting career would agree, I think, that she was bigoted and borderline racist, if not full fledged. (I hestitate to say because it’s been a few years since she was around and I don’t have any cites).
On searches, you have to reset to “any date”-the default is six months.

Look at my post count versus my registration date. I’ve lurked on this board far, far more than I’ve ever posted on it. And I remember it because it was quite the little soap opera when it went on. I’m not one to turn away from live entertainment. I can’t possibly be the only one who remembers specific posters and their little reigns of terror(for lack of a better term).
IDBB was before my time too, but I think I remember her too. I did lots of lurking and reading up on the dramas of the SDMB – hell the juicy stuff was a big part of why I finally joined up.
Wasn’t she some really young, really stupid, really trashy chick who worked at like Burger King or some fast food joint and used to blog about her foreign supervisor? Actually I think the whole thing started when she got preggers with her trashy boyfriend and was generally irresponsible during the pregnancy, which pissed off a bunch of Dopers, one of whom I believe was having troubles conceiving herself (which made this a raw wound for her I suppose). Then the Doper gals … the self-yclept “Bitch Brigade,” weren’t they? … went off and stalked her on her own LiveJournal, where she did the aforementioned kvetching about her Arab boss whom she likened to a terrorist or some such. And that’s why we know she’s racist in the first place.

Anyway, back OT: I took Guin to task for this pitting, but I also think it’s nauseating that certain posters take the opportunity to get nastily personal. Guin may have made a rather typically Guin-esque error in starting this thread, but she was hardly cruel enough to deserve the insults that others have tossed her way. I know, I know, this is the pit, and people let fly with plenty of worse remarks. Still, I think the punishment should fit the crime. Wait until she earns the nastiness, says I.
I’ve known her for about 9 years, and she doesn’t drink coffee.
She’s just a bitch. A bitch who’s right (this time!), but still a bitch.
I miss IDBB too – I got into some good fights with her. And who can forget the Wally debacle, and JDT, and that crazy spy guy (FOREIGN AGENT?) and Phaedrus and all the other crap we’ve seen over the years? Dope’s been a lot more boring lately.
Let’s not forget deeward and her obsession with Engelbert Humpherdink. Or Wildest Bill, or december.

I’m really late to this pitting, but I just thought I would comment that I have read many of **scrambledeggs ** threads over the last few days and they seem like good and interesting questions. I actually hope he joins the dope and continues.
Now just to pile on, strange pitting Guin, but I see you already backed off after the backfire.
