Screamers Mafia

I think it’s probably more likely that there’s either one or two scum teams and no SK, because of the number of kills on various days. But I could be wrong.

In the end, while I really want to vote Guiri just to get him to change his vote, I’m going to vote for who I think is more likely to be scum, and that’s Diver. I actually think our Scum is Normal, but the consequences if I’m wrong are too dire. So I’m voting for who is 2nd most likely to be Scum.

Vote USCDiver

Looks like Day will end at about 12:20 Eastern tomorrow.

See this is what doesn’t make any sense to me. We both agree that **Normal **is highly likely to be the last scum but when I propose a way to get rid of him Today safely (albeit one we now know wouldn’t work), I’m suspicious for it?

If you look at the End-Game from my perspective, knowing I’m Town like I do, then my actions aren’t scummy at all. We all agree that **Normal **must die at some point. I’m definitely on board with that. But I’m also highly suspicious of Guiri. I think **Drain **is Town and I’m neutral on AllWalker. So for me a USCDiver vs AllWalker/Drain vs Guiri End game is easy. We lynch Guiri and Town wins. On the off chance **Guiri **ends up dead, then it comes down to USCDiver vs AllWalker vs Drain. In that scenario, I’d advocate lynching AllWalker. From my perspective, having **Normal **out of the equation at that point helps me. But I realize I have information regarding my role and my own suspicions that you don’t necessarily share.

In the end though, I am willing to die Today if it ensures a Guiri/Normal bomb Tomorrow.

Isn’t your role VT, the same as Drain and I?

I’m going over the possibilities yet again. Here’s the options as I see them:

– Six Scum on one team, no SK. Remaining “bad guy” is Scum. This can’t account for Jimmy’s death in any way I am able to imagine.
– Six Scum on one team, with SK. Two “bad guys” left. I don’t see this as balancing, especially given all the known strong Scum powers and there being so many oddball Town ones.
– Five Scum, with SK. SK left. Most likely, IMO.
– Five Scum, SK, and Miller CIAS. Two “bad guys” left. I think CIAS’s behavior rules this out.
– Six Scum on two teams. By balance and Tom’s reasoning about Cat/Chronos, most likely to be Cat+Chronos+OAOW/Jimmy+Tiltawhirl+X. Unlikely, I think. The strongest argument against it in my mind is OAOW and Tiltawhirl’s apparent cooperation on the Day that Tiltawhirl died. Both ultimately wound up voting for Tilt; both promoted exploding the Bomb; neither voted for AllWalker.

So I disagree with Drain Bead. I’m looking for a serial killer.

I’m still not comfortable about AllWalker. Here’s his claim post:
Sorry guys, I lost net access over the weekend. Shouldn’t be much of a problem, but I was not expecting to be out of action at all, let alone for so long.

I will happily claim.

I am a Lucky Miner - the role is sometimes referred to as a Town Toughguy. As such, I am lucky enough to survive one and only one NK against me. As of this moment I have had no indication that I have been targeted yet, but I don’t know whether I would be told or not. It might explain one of the recent Nights with unusually low NKs, though.
And his first post after nightfall:
Holy crap.

Well, that was not what I was expecting at all.

Okay, so my Role PM says that I am lucky enough to survive one attack. Although it doesn’t specifically say NK, I can’t see how a lynch could be interpreted as an “attack”.

In short, I have no idea what just happened. I have fully disclosed my role and have not received any Gryff items or anything, so I am really confused. As pleasant a surprise as it was to find that a) I am still alive and b) a Scum was dead, I don’t think that is going to last. I can’t blame you - it looks really damn weird what just happened. But I am not Scum, and I am not SK, I’m just a confused Townie.
I have no clue if I buy Tom’s argument about this or not. I’m closest to thinking it’s a null tell. It does not read as insincere; at least that’s something; and the opinions of Tom and Drain must count for a little bit as well. I’ll drop it unless I find something really damning somewhere.

I’m voting Guiri today, almost entirely on the evidence of the OAOW thing, which is the single strongest piece of evidence we have as regards a SK. Guiri is the only one of the serial killer candidates who had nothing to fear if OAOW were telling the truth. Absolutely everything else I’ve found is equivocal or circumstantial; this one goes straight to SK motive. If the fake-claiming Scum is no danger to you day or night, you leave them alive as long as you can, to help you out.

Supporting evidence, despite how subjective it is: see my WoW on Guiri on Day Four, which summarizes my impressions of Guiri’s early play. My overriding impression was of jumpiness/self-consciousness (which has decreased markedly since then; but then, so has Guiri’s individual risk of NK); and then there was the repeated suspicion of Alka. I dismissed it as new-player behavior or natural paranoia several times, but it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been wrong about things like that.

vote: Guiri

As for me as Scum, I can only shake my head at this point. Drain should count herself lucky she’s basically confirmed, or she’d have to put up with me yelling at her like it was Day Two all over again. Diver … eh. I’m going to go put on my best going-to-the-bombing clothes. Hopefully I won’t need them.

Serial Killer? Me? Wow, that’s pretty weak Normal. I’ve been FOSed by Tom every Day of the last 5 Days (“one of Guiri or Scuba must scum”, “one of Guiri or Driver must be scum”, “Guiri’s the best option for lynch”, etc…) - don’t you think I’d have removed that threat sometime earlier in the game if I’d had the power? I even came close to being mislynched on Day 5. Surely on Day 6, when the 3 of you were under suspicion, I could have offed Tom and no-one would have suspected me? Tom survived as long as he did most likely because he wasn’t posing a threat to the real bad guys, just to me.

Unvote

Yes, what I mean is that I KNOW my role and you don’t. Same as you know your role and I don’t. I have my suspicions though.

I have the vote at:

USCDiver(1): Drain Bead(locked)
GuiriEnEspana(2): USCDiver, Normal Phase

Then who the heck is it? It “can’t” be Diver or AllWalker, because they obviously wouldn’t have risked OAOW surviving. It “can’t” be you, because you wouldn’t have risked Tom living one more day. How about this? You killed Oredigger because you figured OAOW would take care of your Tom problem for you (since he obviously wasn’t going to kill himself!), and you didn’t want a double kill if you could help it.

I wish I knew and I wish we knew what we are actually looking for.

I think the idea that both factions (mistakenly) thought they’d be stopping the music box from getting to you (or didn’t do the math to realize how long it would take for the following handshake to be completed) is more plausible.

This is the only way I can make sense of a claimed rolecop surviving the Night, is if said cop was already vouching for a badguy’s Towniness. A badguy in that circumstance would want them to survive, knowing full well that when the rolecop died the investigation would be proven a lie.

Vote Guiri

A couple of flaws in this reasoning: Tilta ended up voting for herself. OaOW left his vote on you. The previous Day OaOW voted Tilta. So one remaining scum from a team of 3 isn’t so unlikely.

Re: SK, if we do have a SK at all, it’s more likely one of the three non-investigated players. The SK ran a 33% chance of being investigated (actually, given OaOW vote on Normal; USC or AllWalker could have been somewhat confident they wouldn’t have been investigated at all) and knew that by letting OaOW survive the night they could:

 • remove suspicion from them as SK
 • throw suspicion on OaOW’s claim
 • get OaOW lynched the next Day instead

A bold play but I don’t think it took nerves of steel - just favorable odds.

If I were SK, I could have killed OaOW and no-one would have suspected me at all…

In the event that Normal chooses to change her vote, out of self-defense:

Vote USC

@ Drain, I couldn’t revote USC earlier as I’d have created a tie which would have left the tie-breaking vote in the hands of AllWalker who, by not placing a vote or stating his voting intentions until now, has been the most anti-town of the Day.

Anyway, my thumbs and my girls will be happy the game has ended for me but I’ve had fun and look forward to the spoliers. I hope you survive Tonight and manage to stay alive Tomorrow to clinch the victory for Town.

NETA, for the sake of clarity, sorry.

 • OaOW and Tilta most likely weren’t on the same scum team - he made no effort to save her even though at the time a vote on her would not have looked in any way scummy and moving his vote off Normal - who was practically saved at that time - would not have looked suspicious.

 • If, as SK, AllWalker had killed OaOW, the very next Day he would have seen himself acting as the fuse for Normal’s bomb - his best chance for survival was to let OaOW live and attempt to get him lynched the next Day.

Official-type vote count.GuiriEnEspaña : 3 (USCDiver, Normal Phase, AllWalker)
USCDiver : 2 (Drain Bead[sup]1[/sup], GuiriEnEspaña)

[sup]1[/sup]Leader’s vote, unchangeable.

Day will end at 5:20pm GMT, or in just over 4 hours and 45 minutes from the timestamp of this post.

ticktock

Psst, MHaye, you do know that Day ended over an hour ago?

I’m late with the dusk colour.

The day is over, and I will be posting up the death scene just as soon as it is written.

I apologise for the delay.

Just five. That was what confronted the survivors. Only five of them remained, of all those that had started. Who was friend and who was foe?

The day dawned with the usual election of the chairperson, DrainBead being unanimously selected.

The debate was long, but filled with thoughtful pauses, until as the sun dropped towards the horizon, Drain Bead cast her vote. The town polarised into two camps; Drain and GuiriEnEspaña calling for the lynch of USCDiver, while the others voted for the death of Guiri.

As the sun began to fall below the horizon, Guiri sighed. “Let the will of the Town be done.” They stood and walked to the machine together, sombrely. GuiriEnEspaña entered resignedly, and strapped in.

The switch was thrown.

The testers did their tests.

GuiriEnEspaña, a Vanilla Town Miner’s Wwife is dead.

Night is now upon you. Day Nine will dawn in 46 hours, on Friday 27th November at 5:00pm BST, or noon EST for those who want me to do the conversion for you.

If you have Night actions, please send them to me by that time. If I don’t get them by then, they didn’t happen. (Sending them to Pedescribe is not, at this point, a good idea.)

Sonofabitch!

Alright Normal… let’s dance!

Okay, I saw that coming.

So tomorrow, Normal is leader, self-votes, then Diver votes for him, and AllWalker votes for Diver?

All right. Going to be an interesting Day.

I’m not sure, Drain; will try to bash it out between now and morning for the most foolproof outcome. Ideally I get blown up along with the more suspicious of AllWalker and Diver.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving to all the US-ians here. See you Friday.
