The ‘leader’ mechanic used in this game is often referred to as a Governor, although the specifics might be different from game to game. Don’t view my use of that term as being any more telling than me referring to a “Detective” or “Seer” or “Psychiatrist” as a Cop.
My role does have two parts: one functional, and one currently ambiguous, although flavorful. I would have left it out in a roleclaim, just as jpei did, although it seems to me to be a weak sort of masonry at this point.
I don’t like this at all. You seem to agree that jpei is probably town, we have a cliamed doctor just off the vote lead, and you don’t want people to move their votes? The voting is very fragmented, a bold scum player or two could easily control the lynch at this point.
Again, so why do you think players changing their votes at this point is scummy?
@Chronos - You are suspicious of Peeker, which is reasonable, but are you in favour of lynching a claimed doc on day 1?
It’s the job of town to do this best job with the information we have. Our goal is to lynch scum at a better than random rate in order to win.
Right now, I’m thinking that jpei (convincing claim) and and Drain Bead (no bus votes after being asked to be lynched) are the most likely to be town. I urge any townies on those wagons to find a better place for your vote. I also think Normal Phase, amrussel and Jimmy Chitwood are playing the most pro-town games atm, although I’m not prepared to think of them as town at this stage of the game. By looking outside this group of 5 players I think I’m increasing the odds of finding scum.
Vote BillMC
For minimal participation and an unjustified vote. I’d also consider a Chronos lynch.
Another claim, I’m not sure this was a good idea. When I saw ‘Miner’s Union’ in jpei’s claim I was wondering about masonry, which is why I raised the idea that jpei’s role might be confirmable at some point.
you asked about a preference for day end and i will at least toss my two cents in.
weekends are notoriously slow (at least on idle’s board and giraffe). sometimes to the point that folks don’t even get around to them at all.
while this Day has gone on long enough, imho, if it were a perfect world you would start the timer so that the day ends sometime monday afternoon (4ish eastern time so that the west coast folks are up and at 'em). that would ensure that everyone has a chance for a little bit of input if they haven’t made it in over the weekend with still a little time to move votes around if sufficiently compelling arguments are made.
now having said that since you don’t get to change your vote that leaves you potentially in a knowledge deficit hole, but hey, you elected yourself.
Urgh. After thinking about it more than is probably justified, I do see the argument in the towniness of the role PM. However, if jpei continues to play as he has done I am going to remain suspicious of him.
The only real candidate right now who pings me is Bill. So. I’m not 100% convinced that the case against him is much more than lynch-the-lurker but I am resigned to not finding much better. I do think he is the best candidate for scum right now. He’s playing in a similar way to a lot of scum I’ve seen live too long.
Yes. I think I have enough of a handle on this crowd to know that something like jpei’s little error there would have lead to people setting the hounds on him, again. To be quite frank, I’m just anxious for this Day to end, and I’m giving less and less of a damn whether I wake up toMorrow.
Dude, if you want to quit, get a sub. Suicide by scum is not exactly pro-Town. And it really didn’t seem like anyone was more inclined to vote for jpei at the time you did this. I’m really not thrilled by this turn of events.
Isn’t a 1 for only one point how pedescribe does things? I just googled pedescribe and the Sample Vanilla PM for his “The Smasher Mansion” game indeed has just one 1.
I’ll vote around tomorrow afternoon then, minus further input from you guys.
