but tom here’s the deal. 840 is equal parts thief and scum suppositions. other than that you are “out of ideas”. a 3rd party might want to steal it and/or kill someone to get it.
you follow up boozy’s revelation with a fairly well thought out 3rd party scenario. its pfk and a bomb or stealer and they want to be an add on winner. but it seems durn quick to come up with those after you are “out of ideas”. what the fuck happened to the scum wanting to make a bomb out of this shit? did it just evaportate? did you just stop thinking about it? was it a poor idea in the first place? are you a fracking cray computer where this stuff happens instantly?
but the clincher is that this pfk has been stealing from * …both Town and Scum…* proposal. now for the life of me i can’t reconcile that one. we have one known theft of benadryl. booz might be town, he might be scum but i am going out on a limb here - HE IS NOT BOTH. what would lead you to come to that conclusion or supposition? especially in light of 840 where you come up with the idea that scum might be stealing it? but now not so much.
In other news, I’m kind of frustrated myself in figuring out where to place my vote. I was hoping that kicking Jimmy’s posts from yesterday around would have knocked loose a voteable case, but the only things I strongly got out of it were cases why Oredigger and peeker are likely to be town, or possibly third-party.
The most obvious case to build off of Jimmy’s actions yesterday would be a lynch of Drain Bead, since after all he helped head off a lynch wagon against her. But like Alka Seltzer, I give a lot of weight to her sussing out that Scum can day-talk. It got rid of a significant tactical advantage for scum, and she did it at a time when it looked like the worst of the pressure was off her.
I’m a bit worried about One And Only Wanderer, if only because of the magic bag and the fact that Jimmy rather aggressively defended his keeping the magic bag closed. He’s been relatively quiet, but did join in on pressing peeker to at least claim a role title, which makes sense to me.
I’ve gotten basically no read off of Daphne, which in itself makes me a touch suspicious. I’ll give her posts a read-through tomorrow some time and see if the case makes any sense to me.
But for right now, I’m going to
vote Cat In A Suit
His pursuit of peeker by way of Jimmy’s comments seems to me out of proportion with the information offered by the actual posts. In particular his focus on the “you’re not helping my team” comment from #352. That, combined with the (admittedly only “day 1 good”) case from yesterday doesn’t give me any reason to move my vote.
I made a poor assumption, based on the genre – I assumed that since (a) this berynium stuff is maaaagic that lets people travel through space and (b) Screamers are maaaagically smart and adaptable and etc robots that (c) they would be made in part from berynium. Thus my question to the mods.
In addition, I figured that a third party would probably prey equally on town and scum. Because that’s the way third parties roll.
Well, but didn’t jpei, who is the only confirmed Townie who had the stuff, say that his role PM said it didn’t appear to be of any use, or something like that?
B]Drain Bead,** I find your opinions intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Between my earlier findings, your analysis and Daphne’s rather lackluster defense to same, I will throw out a
vote Daphne. Not only was the bandwagon jumping unhelpful, but I found the explanations for the votes lacking even by Day One standards.
I would like to suggest that Boozy vote tomorrow afternoon or evening, so that Day 3 can start on Thursday afternoon or evening and we will have all day Friday to get it rolling. If we wait longer, we will either have a Day starting on the weekend or another mega-Day, and I fear people would lose interest in the latter case.
Brief review of** Alka Seltzer’s** voting record: was #3 on Drain Bead train (vs 4 for peeker), subsequently switched to jpei, giving him 3 votes to Drain’s 5 and peeker’s 4. Unvoted jpei after the Governor reveal and cast the 4th vote for BillMC, breaking the 4 way tie and putting Bill ahead to stay.
Conclusion: Not very pro-Town, but (unlike Daphne) not obviously consistent with a desire to protect any of the four candidates.
Oh by the way, peeker, boozy, and OaOW; did any of you get a roleblock message overnight? I kind of assume if you had you’d have mentioned it, but it would be good to know.
I did not. I received a message that my berynium had been stolen, I had received an item, and nothing more. On this matter, however,I attempted an action which doesn’t seem to have functioned.
