Screamers Mafia

Good to see this game is up and running now.

So, voting for leader.

elect AllWalker as leader. Regardless of time zone, he is a good level headed player and is online a lot as well.

I would elect Tom Scud as backup leader. Meeko is not playing so we should be alright.

Also, as I said in an earlier post. I would suggest setting an vote time for the leader of next Tuesday giving us a Day 1 of Thursday through Wednesday.

**Leader Vote:

Boozahol(1): Peeker

Tom Scud(2): Freudian Slit, Drain Bead,

AllWalker(2): Tom Scud, CatInSuit**

Elect Tom Scud

Elect AllWalker is fine with me.

Honestly, I can’t see how it matters much at this point who the leader is. I feel like the best play for a scum who was appointed leader on the first day would be to do exactly what everyone else wants the leader to do, which is presumably what a Town leader is going to do, too.

Where was this pointed out? I can’t find anything like it.

I’d be happy with either AllWalker or Tom Scud as leader in terms of capability, but AllWalker has a much stronger chance of getting through Day One unscathed if history is anything to go by (it may not be). I’m guessing the distraction it would cause if our leader were to accidentally put a foot in it before he placed his vote (no offense Tom; I disqualify myself on the same grounds) would not really be all that beneficial for us.

vote Allwalker

@ Jimmy, I thought I remembered someone saying something like that before me; will check.

The tie-breaker, even though it’s a PM to the mod, has transparency–we all know who was responsible for it. I’m also guessing that if it’s coming down to a tie, we’ll end up having role claims by both parties, and we’ll get a decent amount of info based off of the reveal. So I’m not sure exactly how much scum can influence based on the tie-breaker, at least not without revealing that the leader is scum. If anything, I think the leader is actually a bit handcuffed in this game because of how high-profile his or her decisions will be.

That having been said, I think the leader, if Town, would be a pretty obvious Night target. I don’t really see a major drawback for scum to nightkill a Town leader, especially if it’s one of the better, more logical players. The only advantage I see for scum to leave that player alive is to make us think we’ve elected scum to the leader position. And depending on the roles in the game, there’s a way around that, of course.

Is there an advantage for scum to nightkilling the Leader that I’m not seeing?

Leader Vote:

Boozahol(1): Peeker

Tom Scud(3): Freudian Slit, Drain Bead, Alkaseltzer

AllWalker(4): Tom Scud, CatInSuit, Normalphase, Jimmy,

To get rid of a good town player, and to potentially get scum in the leader position.

'Twas Boozy’s Post #150, Jimmy; he mentioned the governor lacking the same kind of voting record the rest of the players would have.

@Drain Bead – I think what you’re saying only really applies if the leader were a permanent (until death) position; it isn’t. Otherwise Scum would just be night-killing based on the possibility that person might be re-elected on an ongoing basis. Which is probably not wise for Town in any case unless we can get someone like a protected Mason in there.

Oh, is the Leader persistent across Days?

I read the rules as indicating that the first 24 hours of every Day were devoted to Leader election. Am I wrong about that?

No, you’re right.

I don’t see that the leader is necessarily any more attractive a scum target than any other town player. They’ll kill whoever they think is (a) likely a power role or (b) likely to catch on to them or (c) unlikely to be lynched, regardless of who is leader.

Oh, okay–I thought it was persistent across Days until death.

That brings up a different discussion then…SHOULD we continue to elect the same person until they give us reason not to? Or should we mix it up? I really don’t know–the only game I’ve ever played with a similar setup was one where the leader stayed that way until they were dead.

**
This is a correct understanding of the rules.**

I think we should mix it up (at least until we can put a confirmed Mason or some such in the role), so that no one player is forced to have the low-footprint voting record that a perpetual Leader would have.

(Also, changing up leaders every turn would minimize the damage a scum leader could cause.)

Being the first to sign up, the first to cast a vote for leader, and a very active player early on leads me to believe that Tom Scud will be an effective Day 1 leader.

Elect Tom Scud

At the very least, tilta it shows a dedication to the game. Having seen too many people who just go silent or forget to play or can’t be bothered, it’s a good thing. And Tom is a player who won’t get lost in the shuffle.

While I’d appreciate the vote of confidence, I don’t think it’s really my milieu, peeker.

I like both of Tom and AW, I’ll vote for AllWalker on the same basis that I voted for class president back in high school: I know him better.

elect: AllWalker
