Screen Door- No Screen

Poor Ex. I think it’s my fault these always devolve into cooking threads. This one is more food-oriented than usual, and that’s saying something. You could all just ask me to go away, and then you’d have food-free MMPs again.

I ate a bacon sandwich for lunch. I made up for it by eating yogurt for dinner. I will now have some chocolate for dessert.

What is this “measure”? It’s a synonym for “throw things randomly into bowl”, right?

Poor Bumba! That had to be extremely scary. I was almost broad-sided by a semi a few years ago. Sumbitch’ ran right through a solid red light. I was the third car to go through the green light; the problem however, was little ol’ granny in front of me who decided she was going to cross the intersection doing 5 MPH. All I could see was that semi coming down the hill right towards my car door. The idiot wasn’t slowing down either. I was blowing on the horn and everything else to get that woman in front of me to move. That truck missed me by bare inches. I would have been toast had he hit me.

Your cookies sound great!

Well, I didn’t make stew tonight. Instead I made pork steaks and twice-baked sweet potatoes. The sweet taters were okay, but the recipe definitely needs adjusting. I’m sitting here drinking a vanilla vodka and coke. It’s quite tasty. I’ve had one, this is my second, and I may have a third. Hey! It’s Friday, and I’ve had nothing but a series of Mondays this week. I deserve to get a little buzz on.

I need the recipe for your cake, FairyChatMom. I really really need it.

Please?

And I cook by the ‘throw things into bowl until it looks right’ method. I can handle inexact recipes. And Tupug, you’re going to post the Death by Chocolate recipe, right?

My mom started making cakes with this recipe 40 years ago or so and it’s the first recipe I learned. I’ve been using it ever since.

1 box cake mix*
1 small box instant pudding (a flavor to go with the cake mix)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

preheat oven to 350 and grease and flour pan(s)
mix all ingredients together, then beat at high speed for 5 minutes (by the clock)
Pour into pan(s) and bake

2 layers - 30-35 mins
sheet pan - 30-40 mins
tube cake or bundt pan - 45-55 mins
cupcakes - 25-30 mins

Check with a toothpick at the earlier time.
Cool, frost, eat.

*chocolate cake with chocolate or vanilla pudding
yellow cake with vanilla or lemon pudding
Other variations as you like.

The two factors that make it really moist are the eggs and the beating time.

Enjoy.

I will buy a cake mix on my way to work. Yum. Thanks.
