SDMB 2012 NFL Mock Draft - Recruitment Thread

I thought you’d just have me make a pick early in the second round for some unassigned team. Now I’m confused.:frowning:

Everyone is keeping their team assignments for all rounds. You’ve got the Colts, 49ers, Raiders and Falcons. Obviously the Raiders are moot until round 3 and the Falcons and Colts for all intents and purposes have no first rounders and the 49ers don’t pick til 29th. You’ll be picking 4 times between picks 29 and 63, but none before 29th.

I asked if you wanted to pick for the Bills or Dolphins instead of me to give you a bit more action in the 1st round. Guess we’ll just keep it simple and leave things be.

New thread coming soon.

If anyone wants to trade into the top 10, Jacksonville is willing to drop down from #7.

What would it take to let Tampa jump ahead of Cleveland? The Bucs, as faux-GM’d by me, have some concern that Cleveland may grab our guy…but we don’t really want to pay a premium price…

The trade value chart puts the move up at 500. Your second round pick is worth 530. So, if you want to swap picks, conventional thinking is that you must give me your second round pick, and I’ll make up the 30 by giving you back a sixth round pick.

From a personal standpoint, if I were sold on Claiborne and/or Blackmon, I’d likely let it go for your third rounder in 2012 and a second rounder in 2013. That way I’d get value this year and next year without losing a player I really like. Unfortunately, I’m not sold on Claiborne and Blackmon (but I am on Kalil) so picking Kalil has more value to me than that. So I’d stick with asking for your second round pick this year and giving you our 6th.

The Browns will let you move up to #4 to make sure you get whichever guy you want for your 3rd and 4th rounders.

Interesting…if you can hold that thought for a few minutes, I’ll get back to you. Got someone else on the line…

I’m going to move discussions to the draft thread/pms so I don’t have to keep checking here.

Just keep in mind that, were this the real world, I wouldn’t have been telling you that I’m planning on selecting Kalil, so if your guy isn’t Kalil, you’d be a lot more worried that I may pick your guy, thereby making you more willing to make the trade.

That’s one of the reasons there is so much disinformation going out leading up to the draft. Trying to draw conclusions from planted whispers to media guys or from who teamshave in for visits is folly. The lies run deep.
