SDMB All-Pro fantasy football league 2011

Man, how much will it suck to lose this week and still be stuck in last place with the two guys who aren’t even playing anymore?

“Keller, you know we think you’re a great pass-catcher and an integral part of our offense, but I’m going to need you to run/pass block 80 times tonight. Sorry.”

Who’s not playing anymore?

The other two at the bottom - Brian and Tazmanian Devil.

I was looking pretty good halfway through the afternoon games, but then Rodgers and Bryant really turned it on. As it is, I’m trying to hold an 8 point lead with Jimmy Graham against Munch’s Rice and Dallas Clark.

Omni needs 21 out of … Ed Dickson to beat Frosted.

Isotopes has a 7 point lead, Brees, and Cundiff against Retro’s Garcon and Saints D.

Taz… put up 30 points, all but 7 coming from Matt Schaub. He had a ton of byes and I guess he didn’t want to throw away what was on his roster for free agents, so I guess he just decided to tank that game. Chitwood is lucky that he’s faced him, with a mediocre 75 points.

Ellis Dee needs 26 out of Boldin to beat Kiros.

Benching Rivers to start Newton more than paid off. Basically my points all came from Newton and Brown. Antonio Brown has definitely been a nice surprise from a random “why the hell not” free agency pick up. The super-bye week definitely treated me better in this league than the Big league.

I’m going to brag, because this is a first for me. Not only am I in first place as the only 6-1 team, but I have both the highest points for and least points against. This can only mean I am on my way to a GIANT-like December collapse.

Pretty competitive league this year - the top half of the league is within 100 points of the lead, with two more just a few points out of that. 5 people with a winning record, and another 4 with 3-4 records which could easily make a run for the playoffs. This is much tighter than usual - by now you’d see a few people start to pull away usually.
Edit: Oh, and I somehow managed not to notice that both of my marginal QBs share the same bye. TEBOW TIME!

Chitwood has a 45 point lead on me with Bailey still to play against my Bowe, Maclin, and Murray.

Court Jesters needs 12 out of Vincent Jackson to beat Omni.

Isotopes has a 6 point lead and McCoy against Great Old One’s Vick, Mathews, and Gates.

Friggin’ Bengals Def/ST with 2 late scores. Curse you, Cincinnati!

I’m actually considering benching a healthy Roddy White because the connection between him and Ryan just isn’t there this year, I suspect it’s probably Ryan’s fault. But it’s tough to start him over Bowe or Maclin. Weird to think I traded down to draft him because he’s such a consistent asset - and he’s lost it this year.

Ellis Dee has a 5 point lead, Boldin and DeSean Jackson against my Forte.

Chitwood has a 1 point lead and Mike Wallace against Frosted’s Antonio Brown and Hester.

Omni has a 38 point lead and Gould against Petey’s McCoy, Cundiff, and Bears D.

Great old ones needs 8 points out of Vick to beat Retrovertigo.

I might be able to sneak a win here if the game keeps going how it was. I was 20 points behind with DeSean Jackson still against me with only Forte on my team, but Jackson is sitting at negative points. Too bad about that Barber touchdown steal.

I was pretty nervous about Brown vs. Wallace but Brown has been getting a nice share of the big play targets from Ben this season. Still, Wallace is absurdly fast and finds ways to get open deep down the field. Good thing Brown has return opportunities to help out. Hester did very little but it was enough to help my slow and steady climb out of the league basement.

Right now I’m pretty shocked to hear that Bradshaw is not done for the season but I will definitely be shopping around for an RB during the week. It is strange to think of how helpful Cam Newton has actually been for me when my starter should be Rivers.

Based on the only good game I can ever remember Crennel coaching where he stopped Vick dead cold, I’m thinking he may actually have the plan for Tebow. But I’m in a gambling mood. IT’S TEBOW TIME!

Why did Chris Johnson pick this week to wake up? Damn!

So what are the chances that Crosby does not repeat his kicking performance from the last Vikings game tonight? Here’s hoping for a night full of excellent 3rd down performances by the Packers.

I’m willing to package one of my QBs (Tebow, Ryan, Freeman) and one of my WRs (Bowe, Maclin, Roddy White) for a top QB.

I guess that Sanchez doesn’t rate as a top QB

Gridbirds, you need to set your roster still.

I know this is the time of year where people get eliminated from the playoff race (although in this league, with 6 spots, and how close it is, almost everyone is still in), but your wins and losses still matter to the other teams. It’s not fair that one team makes the playoffs over the other because he happened to get scheduled against someone who only fielded half a roster and the other guy had to face a real team. If you don’t consistently set your roster, you will not be invited back next year.

Pretty crazy that McGahee was projected at 10 points and ended the night with -.2. No complaints from me but I that was still a surprising number of points given how many carries he actually had.

After flip-flopping last week, I am going for the Cam Newton start. I just don’t trust Rivers right now.
