No. I can’t even see what leagues I’m in. I have no way of even getting to the league pages. It’s the initial Yahoo Fantasy page itself that’s fucked.
My undefeated season has begun.
We’ve got a few MNF matchups to watch:
Taz needs to overcome 20.41 with Tomlinson/Gostkowski
Retrovertigo needs Gates to put up 17.65
Omni needs Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Vincent Jackson and the Chargers D to overcome 61.09 points plus whatever Nate Kaeding puts up
I am going against Antonio Gates in two leagues, yet I have him in a third league.
I’m up 17.65 here.
In the Big League, I’m down 11.04 and sinking as Fred Taylor runs up yards, with Gates on my roster.
In a third, non-SDMB league, I’m up 50 with Rivers and Gates yet to play. This is a low scoring league where I’m starting Drew Brees.
Given Yahoo!'s horrible auto-draft in the Big League, I don’t stand any chance long-term there, so I’m hoping for a bad night from AG. If, however, Fred Taylor does not put me down more than 17.65, I’d love for AG to give me enough to win the Big but not too much to lose All-Pro.
I’m greedy like that.
Good god. Kid_A has me beat by .15 points right now. I just need a sack or a turn over by the Chargers D on this final drive with no more points from Kaeding. Though perhaps there’s enough time for Vincent Jackson to do something if they get the ball back before running out the clock. If things end as they are now it will be a tense day until Yahoo finalizes the scores and makes any adjustments to yardages.
Yes, and there it is! No more points now…
Well…fuck!
OK, Vinnie time.
Shit, now I need a sack followed by an INT on a hail mary.
And they did the hail mary one play too soon…time to wait and pray on overnight scoring adjustments. There has to be .45 points in there somewhere.
Yeah, so did I. I had the Chargers defense against you in the auction league and you beat me by about half a point. Ironic that if you got your wish, you’d win this league but lose the other.
I didn’t feel confident up 30 with McFadden and Miller against T.O. and Rivers. If you had told me I would gain points in that scenario I would have been shocked. Win is a win though, good to start off ahead.
Heh, I hadn’t noticed you’d gotten that close.
Half a point! from salvaging a 3-1 start out of major stud letdown this week. Bah.
I hope my multileague studs just had an off day, otherwise it’s going to be a long year…
and it looks like I may have lost Gonzalez, so I guess that trade may be paying dividends already. Except that wtf is wrong with delhomme? Can he even chuck it in Steve Smith’s direction?
I’m actually struggling on the decision from Boldin vs Josh Cribbs. Boldin has a pulled hammy and Cribbs is doing everything now - he’ll probably have 100 return yards, they’re running him as the wildcat QB a few times a game, and he’s the #2 receiver. I have the feeling that he’s gonna go off for some nice multirole game and Boldin will have some 30 yard receiving game. But… gah, start your studs and all that.
Whew, I was worried Steve Smith would be worthless this year after the egg that Delhomme laid and the backup QB going on IR. 88 yards and the first half isn’t over yet.
Edit: Wow! I thought I had lost that one! Yahoo has me in a slight lead right now, I guess I forgot about the benchmark scoring!
That was a hard fought match up. I was not overly concerned before the game, but as soon as Dallas Clark caught that first touchdown all I could think was that I was probably going to lose this week.
Trade to announce:
SenorBeef gives Jason Campbell, Steve Smith (NYG), and the Chicago defense
Ellis Dee gives up Trent Edwards, Dominique Hixon, and the Eagles defense.
Barring any problems I’ll push it through tomorrow.
There’s something kinda sleazy about picking up two players on the wire and immediately trading them away to a team with a higher waiver priority than you. If Ellis wanted Campbell and Smith so bad, why not just pick them up?
I had a higher waiver priority priority than he did. Remember, even though we swapped first round picks, I drafted 4th and he drafted 2nd. As for Campbell, he wanted the trade to work out position for position, and Campbell was who I was going to pick up anyway if I didn’t get a trade worked out.
Are you insinuating there’s something underhanded going on here? If so, what?

Ah, I forgot about that trade.
No, I’d have protested the trade if I thought such a thing.
Ah, I wasn’t sure if your post was a protest or not.
I was surprised Smith/Manningham both made it to my first waiver claim, since I would’ve been 9th. They’re both in the top 10 in WR scoring after week 2 and unowned - someone ahead of me should’ve picked them up first, but this league isn’t as active as I’d like it to be.
Campbell was basically a throw in, he wanted a balanced out trade.
It seems like a fine trade to me - it actually may favor him if you ignore where the players were gotten from and only look at their value. Steve Smith is the #1 receiver on the Giants by number of targets, and could finish the year as a top 10 or top 15 scorer (hopefully not quite that high, since it would make me look like an idiot). Dominic Hixon at this point seems to be a pretty huge downgrade.
Trent Edwards is an upgrade over Jason Campbell… for now. Edwards will get crappy later in the year due to weather and possibly because his O-line is going to get him killed, and I think Jason Campbell will probably suck a little less as the year goes on.
Chicago for Philly works in my favor, I think - but Philly is still something of a mystery. A dominant performance against a terrible Jake Delhomme followed up by scoring nothing against NO.
So, slight to moderate upgrade at quarterback, at least for the next few weeks, a possible moderate upgrade at defense, but it’s hard to say, but likely a significant downgrade at receiver - he leaves this deal better than me, I think, although clearly we both benefit - he’s not starting Edwards barring injury, and I probably wasn’t going to be using Steve Smith (NYG) much with Steve Smith (CAR) and Boldin taking the starting slots.
Edit: You’re just bitter this deal didn’t somehow land you MJD, both Steve Smiths, and Anquan Boldin.
