Why is Week 10 “Rivalry Week”? Is a win worth double or something?

At first I thought it was about history between the two fantasy teams until I looked up my previous match-ups against Quentin’s JAMmers and realized that I am 0-3 against him. I realized when I looked at the match-up screen that we were paired against each other for Rivalry Week cause he’s and Eagles fan and I am all about the Giants.

Yeah…but you’re playing JAMmers this week. Next week is Week 10.

“Rivalry week” is an arbitrary designation that yahoo gives you to place if you’re designing the schedule and want to give people their historical rivals that week. But since our schedule is random, it’s meaningless - I think week 9 is just the default week for it.

I am playing a rival, coincidentally. Rematch of the first year’s championship game, and I’ve never beat him in a regular season game.

Edit: Oh, I guess it’s actually week 10 that defaults to rivalry week. No rivalry battle for me then.

Sorry, I missed that one.

Looking ahead, I have never beaten SenorBeef either.

Well with Peterson on bye and Boldin likely out, you’ve got a good shot this week!

Yeah! How 'bout dem Iggles! Plenty of room on our side if you’ve had enough of the beatdowns.

Has anyone ever gotten a reply/rejection/acceptance/anything of a trade offer to Gridbirds/brianjedi? I’ve sent a few with no response whatsoever. He has 2 of the top TEs, and I have none, so I was hoping to make a deal, but I’m not sure he even looks…

I had an offer sit for over a week recently. I think he may have declined another offer in the first two weeks of the season, but I can’t remember exactly. He didn’t adjust his roster for a bye last week either IIRC.

I’m thinking of doing a series of mid-season draft reviews, to reflect both how the rosters have changed, and how our prognostication has panned out. Would anyone be interested in that?

I’d probably do it in the form of a position ranking type of review, ie every post lists what people started with at a position, what they finished with, comments, and where they rank amongst the 12 teams for that position.

I’m looking to move some wasted wide receiver depth to upgrade Ryan Grant. My wide receivers are:

Steve Smith (NYG)
Donald Driver
Braylon Edwards
Michael Crabtree

I’m offering any one receiver plus Grant for your better RB. I’ve already sent out some proposals, so if you’re interested, act quick.

Who’d have thought the strength of my team would end up being receiver?

Immediately after draft day I knew I would lose to any team in the league on week 9. I was kinda heartened when I saw that my yahoo projection gave me an advantage today, but I knew it wouldn’t live up. Still sucks to go through this week even knowing I would lose.

And I’m going to drop to 2-7; my team is garbage. And I have 368 more PA than the lowest PA in the league…who coincidentally is in first place.

And McNabb just threw another pick. Stupid league.

Holy crap my projected score actually came true for once. After a 1-4 start I’ve won 4 in a row to get me to 5-4, fueled through pure rage and awesomeness.

It was nice to see Fitzgerald have a ridiculous game this week. Sims-Walker also helped but ultimately facing Peterson on a bye was what cinched it. I beat my best friend this week in my other league because Peterson was on bye this week.

Pending trade: Isotopes gives up Heath Miller, NY Fanboys gives up TJ Houshmanzadeh.

I, with a 4 game win streak, take on league-leading Frosted Lightning with a 6 game win streak this week. The projected scores say it’s going to be a pretty big battle. I think it may come down to how many of New Orlean’s 72 points against St. Louis come on the ground vs how many come through the air.

We’ve got a lot of games this week with big playoff implications.
Anyway, I’m looking to get a TE. Stuff I have to offer:

Marion Barber, who’s clearly the #1 back in Dallas even with the split and gets all the goal line carries
LeSean McCoy who may be starting sooner rather than later with Westbrook beat up, who has averaged 14.7 points per game the last 3 weeks
Ryan Moats, who so far has gotten more carries than Slaton since being named the starter, who has put up 45 points in 2 weeks
and Moreno, Maclin, and Massaquoi.

If any of that interests you and you have a good TE, send me an offer.

I’m also willing to give up Roethlisberger or Hasselbeck + a running back for a top QB.

Pending trade:

Quentin’s Jammers gives up
DeSean Jackson
Donald Brown
Torry Holt

Isotopes gives up
Kevin Walter
Calvin Johnson
CHester Taylor

I’ve been trying to get Chester for… eight weeks now? Nine?

The final date for trades is currently November 20th, so you’ve got one more week to work out any deals you might like.

To reiterate, I’m willing to part with Barber, Moats, McCoy, and Moreno if anyone needs RB help. Looking for TE help or a QB upgrade (packaging together one of my QBs and RBs) but I’d also consider a receiver in return.
