Bending over backwards? Get a grip dude. It take about 15 minutes to do and the oversight was apparently yours. The fact that you are acting like a petulant child about it is your own issue. My response was to your clearly inaccurate statement that:
It’s not. And since you know how to use google too, I don’t know why you are trying to sell that bullshit.
Really dude? Here is the extent of my “bitching”?
“Why don’t all the teams in a division have the same schedule? I thought we agreed they would years ago given division leaders get an automatic playoff birth?”
followed by
“We thought of it a long time ago, and it’s trivially easy to do. I don’t mind doing it in the future, but the it’s necessary if you want anything reseming fairness.”
Interspersed between these were YOU lashing about it. I didn’t blame you, I didn’t claim it was a conspiracy against me, I just point out something has been discussed and should have been done. Sorry if your ego is too fragile to have your mistakes pointed out, but doing so doesn’t make me the asshole.
True, but division winners are given the top playoff seeds which means in many cases the team with the best record doesn’t actually make the playoffs and/or a team with an easy schedule happens to make it. This has actually happened a few times. Not the biggest deal in the world, but it’s annoyance that could be easily avoided.
Yes, the oversight was mine (and Beef’s) - I’m not trying to shake that. I’m just pointing out that my calendar has been unpleasantly busy this last quarter, and I really have no interest in defending that any further to you. Yes - a balanced schedule the likes of which I have plugged into the system the last several years adds a great deal of parity and fairness to the league. Without it, we’ll have to weather this storm of misfortune together. I’ll hold your hand if you’d like, but you’ll have to provide your own security blanket.
The division schedule issue is my fault. I didn’t even set the divisions right this year. I was travelling during the period leading up to the draft and I didn’t do much of anything. Still, no need for this level of hostility.
I agree, if this was a money league I’d be all over the schedule issue. It isn’t . It’s a very different kind of league where each team has very tactical draft strategies.
The “hostility” on my part was a result of response I got, not any mistakes that were made. IMO, I asked a pretty fair question, and got (multiple) dickish responses. I responded in kind.
I would rather just do away with divisions altogether next year. Or maybe two conferences instead. The whole idea of “playing the same schedule” is kinda silly, with the way the bye weeks work out. For example, in another league I’m in, there’s one player that’s currently undefeated, mainly thanks to Davonta Freeman. I happen to play him on Freeman’s bye week. Technically, I’m playing him like everyone else is, but that’s a huge difference.
I just lost to an 0-5 team that didn’t have two starting slots filled. Pack the whole fucking thing in. I blame Torrey Smith for this. I have no idea why I drafted that guy. I hated it even as I picked him.
With 20 teams, there’s no reason for me to have both Philip Rivers and Carson Palmer. I’d love to move one of them for a solid RB2 or WR2 in what could be a very mutually beneficial trade.
I just noticed that I’m #1 in points and in 9th place (not including this week yet). I seem always either have gigantic blow-out wins or super close losses.
Yeah, the size of this league tends to allow for greater point/record disparities. I’m 7th in points and 14th in the standings (and in fact there are only three teams with a worse record). What’s odd is I don’t have a huge number of points against; I’m 7th.
Weirdly, No Use for a Name II is miles ahead of everyone on points against (738, with only one team within 100 of that) and has very few points for but is 3-3.
I have Sam Bradford and Tyrod Taylor both on byes. I’d be willing to swap one for a non-bye QB. Could also trade Delanie Walker or Crocket Gillmore. Send an offer soon and we can fast track it to work this week.
Your offer was totally reasonable but I ended up passing. I can’t really afford to drop a week but I also don’t have a viable replacement defense on bye either. I don’t want to end up with 3 QBs since I’m not confident anyone will respond to trade deals if I try to offload them.
I’m willing to move Duke Johnson or CJ Spiller for a receiver now that McFadden is an every week starter.
You should have offered something for Alex Smith this week. Would have really solved your one week woes, and I hope not to need him the rest of the season.
