The more generations separate a population from hunting and gathering, the lower the crime rate of that population is likely to be, and the higher the average intelligence.

I realize that this question is not addressed to me, but the reason is that there are a group of people which insists that any disparity between performance of races must be the result of discrimination and other misconduct, typically by whites.

Those arguing in the affirmative need to explain why the War on Poverty was followed by five years of black ghetto rioting, and a tripling of the crime rate from 1960 to 1980.
They also need to explain the very graphic failure of No Child Left Behind.
Despite concerted efforts by educators, the test-score gaps are so large that, on average, African-American and Hispanic students in high school can read and do arithmetic at only the average level of whites in junior high school.
As this is the pit, it is the proper thing to do with people whose ideas are even pass their due date.

No one has denied the achievement gap exists- you don’t need to provide any more data about it. You’ve offered an explanation for the gap, but no data to support your explanation. None whatsoever. Zero.
To reiterate- here is the data that would support your explanation: a determination of all or most of the genes responsible for intelligence and criminality, a broad and deep analysis of many different populations that show some, on average, have more or less of these genes, and a broad and deep survey to show that these analyses have predictive power (that is, to show that the presence/amount of these genes in a population correlates to education and crime statistics).
That would support your explanation. You’ve provided nothing that supports your explanation.
We went through this problem with the fellow who used the SDMB as a platform to promote fucking little kids. The board lost members (such as lawyer Jodi) because for the longest time, the TPTB permited the problem to continue.
I agree. Is it just a matter of finding the right early childhood intervention program? Setting up just the right charter school? Handing out even more plum jobs to blacks who would never get those jobs if they were white? Relaxing admissions standards for blacks even more at elite universities? Heaping more condemnation on those who dare suggest that the gap might be due in large part to genetics?
I am confident that in the fairly near future genes will be discovered that make it possible to estimate within a fairly narrow range of probability a person’s intelligence and criminal history by a tissue sample alone.
Already genes for lactose tolerance and many genetic diseases have been discovered.
Until then persistent patterns of racial differences are sufficient evidence that some races are biologically superior to others.
Your confidence means exactly nothing, as far as supporting your argument.
Persistent, to you, apparently means for 40 or 50 years of at least somewhat equal treatment by the law after hundreds of years of systemic and brutal oppression.
For that matter, isn’t it wrong, scientifically, to compare studies of, say, sub-Saharan Africans to studies of, say, Swedes when asking this kind of question? Wouldn’t you need to make the comparisons WITHIN the sub-Saharan region and Sweden? And even then, wouldn’t you also have to control for a dozen different environmental and cultural factors that would otherwise make a comparison meaningless? Is that even possible?
That is why I’m extremely skeptical (to say the least) that it’s somehow “proven” that one race has higher crime rates and lower test scores EVERYWHERE and at EVERY TIME.
You haven’t presented any “reasoned debate” on the topic, only ignorance, stupidity, lies, and fabrications, coupled with a resolute refusal to address the evidence against your position. So insulting you at least provides some entertainment value.

Seriously, I commend the forum owner(s) for having the guts to set up such a section to begin with. It’s good to have a place where you can have a go at controversy in this way, without someone having to risk a broken nose.
If criminal tendencies were genetically determined, Australia would have the highest crime rates on the planet. Comparing complex multifactoral traits with massive cultural components like criminality and intelligence with simple purely physical traits like lactose tolerance or melanin levels is just mindbogglingly stupid.
The indisputable biological races are the gays, the Jews, the Kosovar Albanians (but not the other Albanians), people from Weehawken, and everyone else.
Someone prove this to be scientifically wrong or else it is a totally valid argument and everyone should engage with me for page after page after page after page about it rather than banning me for arguing nonsense on the basis of zero evidence. Otherwise I am making a totally scientifically valid argument and I demand equal time.
