Okay so its about the BRITISH Navy and Lord Nelson’s efforts in the Napleonic Wars… jeez I gotta read blurbs better…

They let me in late. I mailed a package to Yorktown, Virginia yesterday. Two paperbacks.
Nope. I actually own Girl with a Pearl Earring, but I hadn’t read it. It was a condender in one of my book clubs, but too many people had already read it, so it got out-voted. I started it today on the train, and so far I love it.
I’ve been wanting to read Interpreter of Maladies, so that was a great choice for me, too. I hadn’t heard of A Short History of a Small Place, but I’m looking forward to that, too. You’re spoiling me! Thanks.
Well, thanks, singular1! You’re right, it is very cool when you find someone who shares your same interests. I’m not quite like the other SAHMs in my area, which is why I hang out online a lot.

I just looked back at the list here, and realized I left out some stuff. That should have read “Life, death, comedy, romance, the land, the people, guilt and redemption, …”
I hope it’s clearer now, RC!
Well I got my books out today to RickQ. I sent one book to you in England as it was pretty expensive. I then sent two more to your other address here in the states. At least you’ll have something to read when you get here. Hope you like them.
I got the book yesterday, Jess! It looks great - can’t wait to find time to read it! I’ll have to talk Mr. Elf into taking KidElf for a few walks.
I’m one of the lazy…I’ll be sending your book out tomorrow, Kat. I hope you enjoy it!
rocking chair , I got a package of books from you today! Great selection – Slaves in the Family in particular has been on my to-read list for a while now.
Lamar Mundane – a book package is headed your way!
Sheri, I got them today, but you really didn’t need to send them Priority Mail. I can’t wait to start them. I’ll let you know how I like them!
**Thank You!![’/b]

Hmmmm…since he is coming here to marry me, he might not really need a lot of things to read for a while.
vix, in the spirit of the great SDMB Book Swap, feel free to pass along the extra copy of GWAPE. BTW, Cranky has read A Short History of a Small Place and liked it, too.
I’m sure I will. jumps up and down chanting “I’m getting a booK, I’m getting a book.”
I sent Politzania’s books out today, so you’re only slightly more lazy than me.
So far I appear to be the worst of all. Sorry Yersinia.
In my defense, I’ll whine about how I’ve been working the last eleven days in a row and several of those days included 12 or 16 hour shifts. So today was the first chance I’ve had to get out and do anything.
One of these things was picking up Yersinia’s book. It’ll be in the mail tomorrow morning.
No no, I am the worst iof all. I instigated the whole thing and I still haven’t sent my books. First I had to wait to make sure I hadn’t missed anyone (because I could be the swing person to change my match if need be. Then I’ve been spending all my free time helping a friend out.
Also, one person’s e-mail bounced and she hasn’t gotten in touch with me. I don’t know if she’s left the boards or what, but we may have to do an auxiliary swap so her swap partner(s) don’t miss out on either books or opinions.
vix, don’t discuss Girl With A Pearl Earring with magdalene. She loathed it. But I liked it a lot.
cjhoworth, if you are reading this thread, could you let me know if you got your book?
In other news, I am still waiting for mine, so I have had to begin a new primary book; let me just say that while James Randi has interesting things to say, he doesn’t write very well.
Cranky , if there turns out to be someone unmatched, I would be happy to take on someone else in addition to vix . I have plenty of books to share. Also, if there is someone extra, maybe vix would be willing to pass on the extra copy of GWAPE. (As long as the extra person isn’t magdelene, of course.) Just an idea…
Okie-dokie. I’m going out of town for the latter part of next week, so if you don’t hear that it arrived when you expected, that’s why.
It’s amusing that one of the few people I’ve met is sending me a book. Looking forward to reading whatever it is!
I thought the same thing. I don’t know if Cranky was aware we’d met or if she just had a system of cross-matching people by last names and street addresses.
No problem! And I like Priority Mail. For some reason, I trust it more than sending things any other way. Silly, I know.
Looking forward to hearing what you think, especially about 4x4.

I got my package yesterday. I haven’t read the book, and I can’t wait to get started. Of course Ellen Cherry’s great note and review made me feel even worse about writing my note to Sapphire Bullet on the way to the post office. If I hadn’t, she would have had to wait an extra week for me to get her books on their way, so I’m hoping it was the lesser of two evils.
Me too. I have an extra copy of The Kama Sutra. However, some of the pages are stuck together.
