SDMB Diplomacy World Championship

Grim, you can throw shells from the peanut gallery and otherwise make snarky remarks. We miss that.

Well that’s a given!! It’s the chance to twist the blade while feinting for Greece that I’ll be missing…

Don’t worry, I’ll peek in on your game and talk trash about what everyone’s doing. This is the advantage of running two games in parallel - we can say whatever we want about the other game, without worrying about finding their armies at our doorsteps.

Don’t crush that dwarf, hand me the pliers!

Well, except you could incite an early invasion by taunting the eventual winner. Woe be unto you should you do that only to find them as Russia to your Austria in the next game.

Hey, crossgaming comments, rivalries and outright bloodshed is downright encouraged.

Orders are due tomorrow morning for both games, people. Get 'em to me.

lno’s playing England this time?

Watch for the German-Italian alliance, friend. It’s deadly.
Priceguy- want to have a running bet as to which of us gets carved up first?

What are you talking about - getting carved? Pfah! I’ll be doing the carving here, sonny.

Drat…two weeks late and $20 short, but I’m subscribing and lurking. I’ve only played once and it was a good 10 years ago now, in Rabbi Lester Sharnberg’s fantabulous World Mythology class at Humboldt State.

One player from Game one and one player from Game two are late with orders.

Given that it’s S01 and there’s been significant time to get them in I’m leaning towards a quick replacement.

I’ll give them a little more time.

One lost lamb located!

Fuck fuck fuck fuckity fuck.

Can’t believe Italy decided to attack me completely on his own. When I got that email, my only email from him, at 8:09am today, saying simply, “I apologize for the delay. I am sorry, but I am not able to enter into an agreement with you,” I pretty much assumed he had to have help, because Italy really can’t do jack against France all by himself.

So now I’m kicking myself for letting Italy’s email push me into putting a fleet into the Channel, rather than MAO which is where I’d really have preferred. Damn damn damn. Sorry, England - I screwed up.

Other lamb home!

Wow.

Both games open with an Italy moving against France?

That’s just spooky.

That’s what I was afraid was going to happen in my game! wevets, I’d say you’ve got your work cut out for you.

Maybe rumors were haphazardly floating between boards…

At least in Game 1, it makes sense, since both England and Germany are kinda leaning hard on France as well. France has his work cut out for him. Either he talks one party out of participating in this apparent triple attack, or he’s not long for this game.

But in Game 2…well, Italy just doesn’t have the wherewithal to go it alone against anyone this early; Ven-Pie is simultaneously a waste of time and the creation of an adversary. And in general, unless Italy can get into MAO, he can’t put enough units against France to do more than keep France busy defending, unless either he’s got help or France screws up.

I think that they’re very, very different maps. And I have to say, I’ve never seen Turkey open with with A Smyrna-Syria before. I’m not sure why anyone would do that. Maybe Neville Chamberlain is trying to please the Russian bear?

I understand completely. I see you still have a safe centre in Spa., so if you push off into MAO after all we’ll have no quarrel. Anything else, I may not be so convinced about this “screw-up” story. :dubious:

looks in mirror to see if the word “elbillug” is written there

I can understand your reservations, and I’ll be getting that fleet away from your coast, one way or another. I’ll be emailing you.

Munch I applaud your set of moves.
