Moore was on my late 1st round draft radar as well, but I’m quite happy with my new toys in the trade as well.
Sorry for the delay. Unexpectedly busy over the last 2 days put me behind on research, and it’s probably too late for Retro to pick until the morning at this point anyway. I’ll get it in within a couple of hours.
2.02 Rashod Bateman, WR, BAL
@Retrovertigo is up
I agonized over this one because with the loss of Dobbins I am dangerously thin at RB and so I wanted to pick up Michael Carter. I also liked his running style and what I see on film. But I think the way LaFleur is going to run it is, like on the 49ers the last few years, it’s going to end up being like a 38/32/30 type split with the running backs.
There’s also a volume concern with Bateman. Baltimore has the lowest volume passing attack in the league. But they’ve never had a real #1 WR and it’s clear they’re trying to change that. They made some noise in the free agent WR market and drafted a WR in the first round, I suspect they’re going to try to have a more productive passing offense.
Bateman looks to me like he’s a guy that does everything well. Smart, good routes, good fakeout moves, finds soft spots in the zone, good hands, good body control and boxing out skills, good but not great atheticism, I just think Baltimore is going to find a way to utilize his skill set whereas I think Carter is going to be locked in a RBBC pretty much no matter what.
Gave Mitchell a look, but going into a team with 2 established receivers and Darnold at the helm just seems like a bad idea.
Since we’re all paying attention and in a trading mood, I’d be willing to move any of my receivers besides Robinson which includes Lockett, Deebo, Chark, OBJ, TY Hilton for a roughly equivalent RB.

Pick 2.03 - Michael Carter RB NYJ
@Jules_Andre is on the clock
Beef and me had the same thinking on the two last picks and would have been a coin-flip for me between the two, so Beef picking first means I can be mad at him instead of myself if Carter doesn’t pan out.
Kind of a weird draft so far as usually these 2nd tier RBs would have been gone by now, but with all the QBs taken some fell an expected slot or few.
We’re looking at 5 picks per day for 9 days for our entire draft, and hitting our marks nicely. Retro just made the 15th pick at the start of the 4th day. Perfectly on schedule would be if Jules (or whoever he trades it to) picks at 2.08 by the end of tonight. Plus we have an extra 10th day. So far so great.
If we continue at this pace, we might be able to start after NFL cutdown day next year assuming the NFL keeps the same basic preseason schedule.
Theoretically yes, but I gotta be honest, by Sunday afternoon I had ants in my pants waiting for this draft. Starting a day later on Monday compared to years past when we used to start on Sunday felt like eternity. I don’t know how well I could handle waiting 'til Tuesday afternoon. It’s like I’m a kid on Christmas.
First half of the first round isn’t worried about cuts anyway, I would think.
Edit: If you mean for posting our cut lists, hmmm…
I’d be willing to trade for a pick until my target gets taken.
Would you like a nice Tevin Coleman? He’s the presumptive starter right now, for whatever that’s worth. I’ll throw in Mark Ingram too.
One of the pros going for Michael Carter is the fact Coleman can’t stay healthy.
At the top of the round, I had four guys I wanted so I felt good at my spot. 3 of 4 went, but not the 1st choice. Appreciate it, guys
2.04 - Terrace Marshall Jr., WR, Car

2.05 is available, so make any offers you like. But make them quickly. because I don’t want to wait too long to make my choice.
Is an hour too short to wait for offers? Oh well, its the second round.

@Ol_Gaffer is up.
I am officially done with this years’ draft. I got me a RB that I really like who may be a starting RB sooner rather than later and a huge upside (#2 drafted) QB to help out poor Joe Burrow, who may be getting sacked right this minute while grocery shopping with that shitty offensive line. And I build in case we move to Supeflex. Not too bad. Now I just have to wait for free agency and IR designations to really scrape the bottom of the barrel that you guys leave behind. Good Luck All.
With arguably the second best name in the draft (behind only the incomparable Hubba Chuba… I don’t care how you say it Beef, that shit rhymes), TGOO select:
2.06 - Kenneth Gainwell, RB, Phi
1.01 RNATB - Najee Harris, RB, Pit

Yet another trade: Peteys receive Miles Gaskin and Mark Ingram
RNATB/NIN receive Colts DEF and pick 5.08 (which is really 5.01 I think)
Wow, for real? That’s very generous of you, but I don’t think the league bylaws require any sort of charity for the new guy.
I’m not sure I see the motivation for this one.
Ingram is on his way out, but still a relevant starter in a pinch. Gaskin is kind of a mid-lower tier starter. But gaskins at least has some value.
Colts D probably won’t even be your starting defense most of the time because the Rams are one of the top defenses.
Can’t blame the guy for trading though, it’s fun! Highly recommend
