Y’all take a break and talk amongst yourselves, I’ll post a pick first thing in the morning.

At first I thought you were posting a three way trade, but it’s just sort of a contingent series of two trades, which is still pretty unique. That’s a lot to process and I’m not sure which side I like, but you must really like Polk.

Forgot to mention there’s no reason to be sorry, it’s perfectly reasonable to take some time on a trade like that.

I inputted those trades and updated the draft and there’s going to be one quirk to note. The easiest way for me to process these trades is simply to change the owner of the pick or player in question. Very simple works fine, but it has one quirk - if a player is drafted and then traded later in the draft, and I change the ownership in their original slot, it will read like the owner who ended up with the player drafted them there. So it the draft results will read as though Jules drafted Bowers at 1.05. This won’t really hurt anything, but I thought I’d note this quirk in case it confused anyone looking back at the draft. In this case, the in-thread draft results will be more accurate in terms of what actually happened during the draft.

We’re almost at the half-way point to the draft and I guess we don’t actually have to have this wrapped up until Thursday, though I’d like to finish it by Wednesday night at the latest. We don’t need to rush too much but I would like to pick up the pace a little bit and we will be more willing to start skipping picks from here on out since they’re less pivotal than earlier picks.

That seems like a really one sided trade for Omni but with the exception of Rachaad White for Kareem Hunt Jules has got the better of me in all our trades.

3.03 Jermain Burton, WR, CIN

@PeteyPart2 come on down

I clearly do not understand trading/trade value in this league.

Trading away the 6th pick of this draft, the #3 QB in scoring last year, and a third round pick for a 30 year old TE, the #6 QB in scoring last year, and a 30 year old WR who fell off a cliff last year and is on a new team that already has a top 10 WR and a top 40 WR is just completely beyond me. It makes no sense.

3.04 Luke McCaffrey, WR, WAS

@RetroVertigo is up

I’m too hungover to even understand how the trade is presented let alone breakdown the winner/loser.

I’m going to need a few hours to research before making my pick.

In my favor?

Not sure about that. Jules definitely seemed to win the other half of the trade IMO. But our half is really more about time than anything else.

For me I basically “upgraded” my 3.01 pick to a 2025 2nd. But it’s Jules so that may not be much of an upgrade. I upgraded my 4.01 pick to a 3.06 pick.
I then swapped my last pick next year for 6.01 which is probably a lateral move depending on how many cuts I make. Ultimately not a lot of value changed hands, I’m basically banking a pick and taking a long shot bet that Jules has a year from hell.

As for the other half. That’s a massive “win now” move for RNATB.

3.05 Jalen McMillan WR TB

@Omniscient is up.

@SenorBeef - looks like you are entering the round 3 picks into round 4 on Yahoo. Probably will not make a big difference but in case it is easier to clean up now than later. And also in case your clock management was influenced by thinking we were in round 4.

I’m going to resist the urge to swing another trade.

There’s 2 guys I really want here but I think this is the smart long term play.

Pick 3.06 - Ben Sinnott, TE, WAS

This wait until pick 5.01 is going to be painful.

@Justin_Bailey is on the clock.

I’ve got two guys I’m thinking of for this pick, so I’m going to do some research for a bit, but if anybody wants to move into 3.07, feel free to send me an offer.

Trade to announce:
HungryHungryHaruspex receives:
3.07

Gusterrhoids receives:
RB Zack Moss

3.07: Troy Franklin, WR, Den
3.08: Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, NYG

@SenorBeef is on the clock

I’m bored and noodling on this draft and I’m actually coming around on this trade for dale.

Thought experiment, let’s rewind and imagine this was a pre-draft trade. Let’s also break it up.

Dale trades 1.6 and Dak for Kittle and Purdy.

Now obviously Kittle is up there in years, but he’s definitely not a question mark for a few years yet. And the 1.6 pick could be some RB who might bust or be trapped in a RBBC situation forever. Plenty of mid-first picks have been terrible, just look at my draft history.

And then Dak for Purdy is rational. They were close in production in 2023 and Purdy is younger and ascending. If Dak leaves Dallas we have no idea what his future holds. Having the QB in SF seems like a good long term play.

I think those two deals balance out pretty well. A top TE and getting younger at QB for a first round lottery ticket. Now when you say that 1.6 pick is Bowers it starts to feel more lopsided, but that inherently assumes that Bowers is as good or better than Kittle was.

Then let’s consider Diggs for 3.05. That’s obviously a huge win for dale. Diggs is older and in an uncertain situation, but you can’t argue he’s not a top 15 WR. Third round picks generally flop, so that deal is a no brainer.

We’re obviously in draft mode right now so we’re all inherently biased in favor of long term team building. But even the most lauded rookies are complete unknowns. I think it’s safe to say that Dale became a better team for at least 2024 and probably for 2025. After that it swings towards Jules if Bowers and Polk both end up being high end starters, but that’s a big if.

How about we bet 2025 2nd round picks on this. If Diggs doesn’t finish as a top 15 WR this year, I get your 2nd round pick next year. If he does finish as a top 15 WR, you get my second round pick. Deal?

If you’re saying that Nico Collins will be Stroud’s top guy instead of Diggs, I will definitely sign up for that.
