SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY league: Year 16

Why be high on a guy if you think his team has no interest in starting him more than one season?

The over-valuation of RBs in this league seems to be like the valuation of QBs in the real draft. So many teams are dead set on chasing the dragon of an elite QB (or RB here) that talent and value are unimportant anymore.

Speaking of: starting Giants RB Devin Singletary (who is just 26 years old) is on the block for a top 6 dynasty (note: not Kelce or Hockenson) TE if anyone is interested.

That’s a fair question, actually. But it doesn’t matter now because I got one of the few players available here who does look special to me (even if it means waiting a year or two for the Packers to decide Josh Jacobs is overpaid).

Kelce I get because he’s so old, but I was wondering “What’s wrong with Hockenson?” Oh, PUP list, still recovering from torn ACL and MCL from week 16 last year, expected to be able to play “this season” but ineligible for the first four weeks because PUP list. Yeah, that doesn’t sound great.

Sending you a PM now…

Good on you for getting that post written before Singletary turns 27 in… 5 days. Best of luck with your offer, tho

On that note, starting Bengals RB Zack Moss (who is just 26 years old) is on the block for a top 6 dynasty TE if anyone is interested. I will also accept three first round picks or your daughter’s hand in marriage

“So how did you two meet?”

“Well, funny story, back in 2024, Zach Moss was supposed to get the Bengal’s early down carries, and…”

Sorry folks - had to get cut again this morning and just got back home. I had a list ready to just pull the trugger - but every one of them is gone ( and I thought Lloyd was going to be a reach if i got there.) I need to do sime more research, but thar might take a little time. Also open to suggestions from anyone who has an unconflucted opinion to share

I sent you a PM

If Jules sent you advice, it’s better than this, but just as generic unconflicted advice: you’re good at QB so you don’t have to consider the QB3 here. Your RB could use some improvement and Jaylen Wright would the next best candidate. Fantasypros has him at #17. The next highest RB is Ray Davis in Buffalo but it would be a real reach at rank 26. I don’t know anything about either, except that Jaylen Wright is in a very crowded room in Miami. I’d probably draft him if he reached me just for the Achane handcuff, but he’ll be gone by my pick.

The next highest ranked WR is Keon Coleman in Buffalo. I said a few posts ago that I didn’t like him that much, but 1) what the fuck do I know, and 2) it’s 5 picks later, and 3) he’s the best value for your pick by rankings (ranked 13), and 4) everyone should want a piece of our beloved Josh Allen.

I am publicly putting Trey McBride on the block – the #2 TE – and looking for a starting QB in return. I have already sent out multiple specific offers, but if anyone else with an overly good backup QB needs a TE badly, feel free to hit me up.

Okay - I guess I am staying chalk and loading up WR. I hear the future if the NFL is rotating RB every down and running the QB from i side the 5 anyway.

2.02. Keon Coleman

@Ol_Gaffer is on the clock

Wow. FantasyPros has Lloyd at #19 and I was thinking he might be available for me at 2.07, but I guess not. I don’t have much faith in Josh Jacobs either.

It’s kind of funny how far apart our draft and the expert’s picks almost always are.

I think this is because of the depth of our bench. Not sure what the standard Dynasty league is shaped like, but I suspect we have way more bench players. This means that RBs are far more scarce in our league than others. I also think there’s a trend towards 1RB lineups with extra flex or WR slots.

Don’t know if the site posts their baseline team shape with their rankings, but I really don’t think it comes down just to our biases.

Google is saying the proper roster size for a 12 man dynasty league is 25.

From discussions on the dynasty subreddit I get the impression we’re around the minimum league size (maybe more like average) and a lot of leagues use taxi squads where you keep 3-5 players who are barely on NFL rosters around for a few years to see if they develop but can’t be played on your active roster.

I don’t know if other leagues tend to follow the fantasy football expert rankings, but if they did, that means a bunch of people who are very RB starved are waiting for “proper value” and passing up RBs early on instead of reaching, which is hard to believe. On the other hand, if people aren’t actually doing that, wouldn’t the expert rankings eventually adjust to how people are actually drafting and rank RBs higher? I don’t know.

I think Omni has had enough picks already.

Years from now we may look back at this moment I’m awe and terror as the moment the great Omni empire began.

MHJ and Caleb could be foundational pieces. I don’t think Jayden works as an NFL QB because he holds the ball way too long - he’s Justin Fields with better accuracy. I kind of like the double dice roll at the position though.
