SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY League: Year Eight

Alright, updated results list with updated pick numbering. I cut out the keepers, but the picks are numbered just as they are on Yahoo, which if you’re referencing this list for prospective purposes should cut down on any confusion. When I post the final version after the draft I’ll revert it to plain old sequential numbering for posterity.

Probably tomorrow I’ll take a pass at cataloging all the trades and making sure all the "via…"s are correct.

Since it’s impossible to post list of draft picks in the thread without at least one error: be advised that pick 4.4 belongs to Beef, not Jules.

As always, the Draft Results page on Yahoo is the most reliable source for accurate information. I keep it up date pretty faithfully, one step at a time, everything is saved as its entered, and mistakes are hard to make since everything has to add up correctly to be saved.

**4.01 Johnathan Williams, RB, BUF
**

Petey is on the clock.

Getting down to “are they on the roster?”

4.02 Wendell Smallwood, RB, Phi

I’ll PM Ellis

I do enjoy jumping on the bandwagon, and it looks like project RBs are the order of the round, so I head back to the triage center to grab my final pick:

4.03 Daniel Lasco, RB, NO - Ellis Dee

He did make the final 53, if barely, but the dynasty reviews I’m seeing of him seem ridiculously optimistic. One guy even has him as the #3 RB behind Elliot and Henry. (?!) Seems that he had a monster combine, and he’s had some impressive displays in practice. I guess I just need to wait for multiple injuries to the Saints running backs for him to get on the field. (And for him to shake off that concussion. Oofa.)

This concludes my participation in this year’s draft. PMing Beef now.

Sunday to Friday: 22 picks
Saturday: 16 picks and counting (next up is currently online)

When we step it up, we step it the fuck up!

I’ll get my pick and PM varlos a list for the last pick too, but I’ll need a few hours on this one.

Just realized I had two picks in a row to end my draft.

You know how at the end of the draft sometimes you take those freak athlete guys? They’ve got the upside because they’ve got like 96th percentile athleticism.

I’m going to do the opposite and draft the least athletically gifted guy in the NFL.

**4.4 Rob Kelley, RB, WAS

4.6 Jared Cook, TE, GB
**

Omni is up.

Shoot. Didn’t realize Cook was available.

If he plays like he did last season, Matt Ryan will be worse than replacement value this year. I love Dalton, and I think Osweiler will be a reasonable spot starter just because he has Nuk, but I’ve been burned in this league by failing to carry enough (especially young) QBs. So I was determined to come out of this draft with one who I didn’t think would just take up a roster spot. It’s probably well-known that I’ve been trying to trade for Bortles and Jameis since last year, but the secret is out on both and I’m not willing to give up a lot for them while I’m in a win-now scenario.

I would have preferred Dak because we’ll know much more about him by season’s end, but he was long gone. I see basically all the QBs in this draft as “just a guy” types, but Lynch is tied to a couple of very good receivers and should have a high floor because he can run.

Historically, I haven’t done anything worthwhile with my second-round choices in this league. My starters are either end-of-draft fliers or trades. We’ll see what Matt Jones turns into this year.

FYI, I was going through last year’s thread and realized I offered to trade you Lamar Miller for Doug Martin straight up. I would still be willing to do that if you give me back the second round pick I just sent you.

I literally lost track of how many offers you sent me for Jameis last year. It had to be at least a dozen.

Rough night last night. Pick coming soon.

My TEs are weak, and I’ve been tempted to take him with each of my picks. Think he’s going to be great immediate production, at least until Green Bay lets him go which could be as soon as next year. He would have been automatic for me here if he made it just one more pick.

So instead I’ll take Dwyane Washington, RB, DET.

Gonna have to hope the wheels come off for Abdullah.

4.08 - Will Tye, TE, NYG

You didn’t indicate that you sent Retro a PM, so I will.

Retrovertigo is up.

4.09 Jalen Strong WR, HOU

I’m in the rare space of redrafting someone I dropped. I really don’t like anyone else more than what I got in him, but I am fully prepared to be skipping over the next superstar.

Jules is up. PM to be sent.

On my phone at work, so I can’t pm or format correctly, sorry. Taking Virgil Green, TE, Den

PMed Varlos.

I’ll take, um … uh, Rashard Higgins, WR, Cleveland. May Corey Coleman snap his femur in a most unmanly fashion! (I’m only kidding.) (Not really.)

Could someone PM Petey for me? I’m outside being social for once. Thanks.

Never mind, I got it.
