SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY League: Year Eight

Ok, our keepers & trades are all entered and and our draft is set up – it can viewed at the Draft Results page. I feel pretty good about my data entry this year, but please check your own team to make sure everything’s right since I had to do the draft manually. (We had one glorious year where Yahoo automatically filled in our keepers and saved me an hour of work; what happened?!)

I’m late here guys and didn’t have a chance to finalize my keepers. Have been traveling this weekend.

Any chance I can get a pause and submit a last revision to keepers?

Sure, but don’t dawdle – need final selections pretty soon, a couple hours at most.

Jumping on a train to the airport. Ill post a revised cut list to the thread in 45 or so.

I said I might make adjustments to my cut list, but I’m going to stay with what’s entered now. I keep wanting to cut Jordan Cameron because he’s been a dumpster fire, but I’m gonna give him one more chance in the TE-friendly Gase offense.

Sorry for being late. Looks like only a couple changes.

I will swap 2017 first round draft picks with anyone in the league right now.

I thought it was a fun idea. We’d instantly create a rivalry as we’d be invested in the other player doing badly, and it adds a fun element of what to root for in the fantasy season.

So if you think your team is good, put your money where your mouth is. Tell me you’re going to finish better than me and take my better draft pick.

Ok, Omni’s changes have been made (thankfully Yahoo didn’t reset our draft and make me enter everything again). I’ll probably give the all-clear to start drafting in a few hours – until then, check your draft if you haven’t already to make sure everything looks right, and any more edits to your cuts should be done ASAP.

Just a heads up, I’ll be on a plane and out of touch until about 4PM CT.

The clock won’t actually start ticking for another 7 hours (Midnight). Early drafting is fine (and helpful), but don’t feel obligated to start rushing through the board right away. There are 56 picks this year (up from 53 last year), so we have about the same amount of time & picks as before. I officially encourage everyone to take this time to scout out potential trades and send out feelers.
***** RetroVertigo is on the clock. *****
Instructions:

  1. Everyone gets 12 hours to make their pick.

  2. As soon as you post your pick, please PM the next person to let them know that they’re on the clock, and mention that person at the end of your post so we know the PM is being sent. I’m sensitive to the fact that it might be annoying for some to be continually pinged by PMs from this league, but I think this is an entirely reasonable measure in this instance.

  3. When your next pick is near, make sure you have an idea of who you might be targeting and/or what types of trades you’ll be seeking out.

  4. If there’s some uncertainty about whether you’ll be around when your next pick comes, consider sending me a short pre-rankings list – you can specify whether I should draft off of it immediately, or only in the instance that your clock is about to run out (or anything in between). Label the PM as a pre-rankings list in the subject line and I won’t look at it I until I have to.

  5. Because of the (theoretically) tight schedule, we might not be able to give much leeway if your clock expires. If your clock is running out try to let us know you’re around and working on it, and as long as we’re still more or less on schedule we probably won’t be too cutthroat. In any event, at least at first, don’t jump ahead of someone whose clock has run out until I give the OK. It’s also possible that we may have to shorten pick deadlines and crack the whip if time begins to get short (though this hasn’t been any kind of issue in years past).

  6. **All that said, the 12-hour window exists for a reason, and you shouldn’t feel bad about using it. **Just don’t waste it, is all. If you’re actively looking for specific trades, or you want to take some time to consider because you’re really unsure who you want to take, that’s great. Just don’t let the clock run down hoping that your metaphorical phone will ring.

I’ll submit my pick like this, so it can just be cut-n-paste over. It will be easier to track draft picks.

Ellis Dee is on the clock. PM sent.

If only there were some way of finding out, some … list, or something, of all the picks and the order in which they’ll be made.

Seriously though, aside from being in the OP, we’ll of course copy & paste updated results occasionally, and as always I’ll be updating the Draft Results page as we go, which is a good way for everyone to get an overview of the draft.

Treadwell is the consensus #2 but I’m not sure why. Dotson and Coleman seem like they should be a toss up at worst between those 3.

Heading over to the hospital to break the good news to Kenneth Dixon. Wake up, gimpy!

Oh, and, I just realized that I have a ton of old “you’re on the clock” PMs clogging my inbox so I went ahead and cleared them out.

Maybe give a quick glance to make sure your inbox isn’t close to full, and clean out some room if it is.

When my pick comes up I’ll be fielding offers for it. I’ve got to do some research before the pick anyway. I’d be interested either in moving back in the 1st round or getting a young WR, < 26, say. Other ideas are welcome, but that’s what I have in mind.

I’m working a potential draft pick trade as well as a straight up player for player trade. I’m keeping a close eye on the clock as well.

So… any chance I can still drop Ben Watson? He got hurt late Saturday (torn Achilles), before the deadline, but I didn’t hear about it until this morning.
