Is that a hint? Unfortunately, Yahoo no longer automatically enters the keepers in our draft – don’t know why. It worked right for one season, if I recall, a few years ago.
It’ll take a couple hours to enter the keepers manually, might run into the Big League draft.
Just a reminder. I thought it would be easier than adding all of them manually - I thought you could just hit finalize to set the post-cut rosters then just add the draft picks in after that. I guess there’s no automatic way to say “send all these keepers to the bottom of the draft”, they’d just end up at their draft position last year.
Well, I was targeting Jones here, but that fell apart. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out where to go from here. I have two picks close together, but no picks afterwards until the 4th, so I’m in a weird spot. I looked at who was still available, and nobody jumps out to me as being worth a pick here. So I’ll reach for the guy I really want, who won’t be around in the 4th, and maybe won’t be around with my next pick.
2.01 - Marlon Mack, RB, Ind

I was almost passed out by the end of the Big League draft, will finish inputting our keepers on Yahoo in the morning – should be a straight shot from here, already did the tricky work of getting the picks all assigned correctly.
2.02 OJ Howard TE TB
Ok, the Draft Results page is fully updated – the keepers, draft order, and picks so far should all be correctly listed there. Likewise you can see the available players list on Yahoo.
I’ll send a PM to Jules just in case he didn’t get one yet.
2.03 - Evan Engram, TE, NYG
Agonized over this decision. I’ll probably regret it, but this is the right blend of talent and need.
I’ll pm Beef
Working on it. Got some trade talks and some guys I didn’t expect to be available are which means I need to do some last minute research.
Also thanks Varlos for getting that all updated. I know that shit is tedious.
Sorry if it takes me a bit, guys. I missed one of the guys sending me a trade offer by like 10 minutes, and I’ve also got a complicated decision.
Trade announcement.
Beef receives Isaiah Crowell
Ellis Dee receives 2.04
I had a tricky decision there.
Njoku was probably my BPA based on pure talent. With Gronk being unreliable and Brate potentially losing his role to OJ Howard, I could use a TE talent injection. It’s also tempting because of the homer factor, Browns players are rarely worth drafting.
I thought about Donta Foreman. People are super hyped on him, 230 pounds, 4.4 and all that. There’s talk that he might fit Houston’s scheme better and superscede or replace Miller, which would make him a high floor/safe pick for me because I’d be securing the strength of my roster in case he did.
There’s Perrine. I don’t think Rob Kelley is the long term starter in Washington, maybe not even this season, which means in order to keep my control of the Washington ground game I’d have to draft Perrine.
Ellis made me an offer that takes care of 2 of those concerns: I may lose either the Houston or Washington ground game, having not picked either of those players, but I picked up the Cleveland ground game which should hopefully make up for it. And it also becomes a wash with the homer instinct for Njoku.
I don’t know how long Crowell will be valuable. He’s one of those guys that’s reliable but unspectacular, I’m not sure how many teams in the league he starts for, and this is the final year of his rookie deal. I don’t know if he goes somewhere next year to be a backup or if he becomes the future in Cleveland. Given that they didn’t really prepare to replace him this year, I hope it’ the latter - but then it’s not like it’s hard to have a rookie come in next year after his contract expires. I’m a little afraid I gave up an important rookie for someone who may be on their last year as The Guy, but it should be a really good year for me and he may be a piece in my repeat championship this year.
2.04 David Njoku, TE, Cle
PM to VarlosZ sent.
I should’ve added that I know I made a good trade for me if Stringer is angry. Let’s see if he chimes in.
Expect more references to this video.
I’m looking at the pick now, but it’s available for trade. I’m probably willing to bank the pick, take a 2nd next year, if such a thing can be worked out.
Trade.
Varlos gives Beef 2.05 and 2018 3rd round pick
Beef gives Varlos 2.12 and 2018 2nd round pick
I need to run an errand and then research Foreman vs Perine, I didn’t expect to be able to land one. I’ll try to make it quick but it’ll probably be a couple hours at least.
Sorry for the delay, this was a really tough one for me.
