SDMB Fantasy Football DYNASTY League: Year Seven

I get the sinking feeling they’re gonna put this guy on IR tomorrow, or at least the PUP list, but it’s just so enticing to have TWO Raider TEs, so…

PM to furt sent.

Hmm. I’ve never considered it, so I’ve put zero thought into this at this point, but: ok by me?

Input by others would be good.

ETA – If you you did have IR picks, the supplemental round would go: Hamlet, RNATB, Beef, RNATB.

No objections.

These are guys that went on IR after they were picked, right? Otherwise it’s a way to get double picks.

I’m the only one it negative affects, and i don’t mind if they get added to the end of the draft for players that got injured/IRed during the draft.

The IR thing is weird because our draft starts well before teams are required to IR players. So if someone has players unexpectedly IRed after our draft starts, I don’t really see a problem with adding them to the supplemental pick round. As Beef points out, this would not apply to drafted players, leading to double picks.

Yeah, they were both injured/waived this week, which apparently is a new option - if waived/injured players clear waivers they go on IR. I do have one question, though: can players be dropped after being put on IR? I’m not sure I am going to keep either long term. That being the case I am not sure it would be fair to give me supplemental picks for them, since I could effectively call them late drops.

Now, are you actually going to keep these guys though? Neither Robert Turbin nor Boom Herron were even mandatory keeps before the draft, and now? Both were placed on waivers by their teams – Yahoo says Turbin will probably be released by the Seattle, while the Herron injury was “relatively minor” but they waived/IR’ed him anyway, so probably they too are looking to move on from him. Obviously there’s no downside to stashing them on your IR so long as you don’t need a slot for someone else, but if that wasn’t an option it seems both of these guys would be clear cuts in favor of just spending some FAAB money to fill up the roster. Makes it seem like kind of a freeroll.

I don’t know, I’m not sure why that feels any different to me. Maybe it’s really the same situation as a solid starter going down during the draft.
ETA: Ah, thinking along the same lines, I see.

Yeah, I’m almost certain they can, and I would manually edit your roster if somehow they couldn’t.

I’m expecting to keep Herron and probably drop Turbin if his IR spot becomes necessary.

I also wonder: how should we handle it if a rookie gets placed on IR after being picked in our draft but before said draft is finished? Is that owner eligible for a supplemental pick?

Cody Parley, K , Phi

6.02 - Zach Zenner, RB - DET

If we’re doing IR supplemental picks, my first rounder went on IR after I picked him.

This IR stuff is a bigger mess than I thought.

I don’t really understand why he’s still available, but apparently he is: Josh Hill, TE - NO. PMing Hamlet.

Which is why I don’t like the supplemental draft as a distinction from using the waiver wire. There won’t be a “fair” way to do it.

Supplemental Draft: Pick 1 - Lions Defense.

With the recent changes, I’m not sure who to PM for the next pick.

Whatever happens, **Beef **will have the next pick.

Heh, well, with the rather low stakes involved (basically a few bucks worth of FAAB), how about we just stick with the order we had going into the draft, and then we can have a proper discussion about it after the draft (or before the next one). Sound good?

Sounds good to me.

Me too. You don’t need to give me any picks, though. I thought about it and I’ll just drop Herron and Turbin.
