Other than Isotopes, it’s hard to know who I want to win or lose at this point.
He could have had mine!
dale posted 2 weeks ago that Spiller was available and he wanted picks. Not sure what more you guys needed to hear to make an offer.
Oh, phew, Spiller was Out this week; thought there was gonna be an issue because I didn’t see the trade until now. As always, remember that dale’s last pick is going to have to be forfeited to make room (unless he makes room via some other trade, I suppose).
Also: Calvin Fucking Johnson! 14/329/1! This is why our trade talks never got off the ground, Beef.
On the trade, while I do think Stringer got a good deal, it’s not a *great *deal. As awesome as Spiller’s 2012 was, it was his only good fantasy year so far, and his 2013 has been awful (while Fred Jackson is doing really well on a per-play basis, suggesting it’s not just his offense). He’s also gonna be 27 at the start of next season: if he were in the draft pool, and his 2013 doesn’t significantly improve, where would he go? Middle of the 1st Round? I doubt any higher. **Stringer **could realistically win it all this year, but he’s also no lock to make the playoffs (he’s gonna be 5-3 after this week, and half the league has an equal or better record). His draft pick could be anywhere in the 5-12 range.
Yep. I’ve found it’s a good idea to pay attention when people specifically mention players they want to trade. That usually means they want to trade them, and you can get a fair deal.
I’ve returned to my rightful place as the points leader of the league.
By a whole four points.
This coming week is one of those that make me hate fantasy football. I have to simultaneously root for Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson to play well for my money league, and root for them to suck in this league, and then root for them to play well for my fandom. I think next year I’ll be limiting my fantasy football rooting interests, because games like these coming up ruin the fun.
Don’t ever root against your own team. Rodgers to Nelson, 7 TDs. Hope with me on this one.
Being a Giants fan really takes care of that problem this year.
Buccaneers, too - though I’ve been starting their defense a lot. It was working fine right up until Nick Foles forgot he was Nick Foles.
Just wanted to ask, every single trade involving future draft picks has had the details posted to the thread, yes? We’ll want to post a complete list of trades once the trade deadline passes, and ideally that will just mean browsing through the thread from the final draft recap to the end.
I think there have one been three or four so far.
I believe Varlos has them in the Commish notes section on Yahoo.
Also a reminder to Varlos to please move CJ Spiller’s broke ass to my team.
Seriously, who wants DeSean Jackson? I need a QB stat.
So there’s the big showdown between 7-1 teams this week.
…And Peyton’s on a bye. I’m going to get crushed.
Incidentally, I suddenly find myself with a glut of good young running backs. I’d be willing to package one of them (including Knowshon, win-now people) for the right guy.
Who’s the right guy? or rather, what position does the right guy play?
I am indeed keeping a running tally of 2014 picks that have been traded in the Commissioner’s note. At present it looks like this:
The Spiller trade has been executed; may God have mercy on our souls.
Wow. I have never had a team so fucked by injuries and bye weeks:
Bye Week
Calvin Johnson
Larry Fitzgerald
Reggie Bush
Justin Blackmon
Joique Bell
Michael Floyd
Injured
Doug Marting
Zac Stacy (presumably)
Randall Cobb
Ben Tate (basically)
Michael Crabtree
Jonathan Stewart
So, my top six WRs AND my top **six **RBs are unavailable this week.
You’re welcome, Omni. You win this week.
