SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Five

The average points against for everyone in the league but me is 1042. Mine is 135 higher, at 1177, highest in the league. That’s a 15 point difference per game. I’m barely squeaking by with a 5-4 record. Ugh.

I think the biggest question about Lacy as a fantasy RB is his history of injury. He seemed to be constantly dinged in college and his style of running tends to lead to lots of hard hits. If he can stay healthy, he could be a beast though.

James Starks, everybody!

I agree. I was worried about picking him, but couldn’t pass up the potential. Of course this isn’t to say that he will end up a 2.5ypc back, but he has eased my mind some.

grrr

I will consider trading a WR and possibly even one of the stud TEs for a QB, although I’m not sure I want to invest massively for a great QB who will end up backing up Rogers most of the time. Still, maybe give me an old guy or a mid-tier guy for some WR talent.

I must admit I am slightly tempted to gamble on Case Keenum and sell you my shiny new Nick Foles.

Carson Palmer is maybe available.

Cutler is available.

My two quarterbacks went out back to back with shoulder injuries.

Injuries really killing my season, bye bye Foster.

I know it’s a little ghoulish, but as a Ben Tate owner I just did a little fist-pump.

At the start of the year, I certainly did NOT expect to be pinning all my hopes on the triumvirate of Ben Tate, Reggie Bush, and Zac Stacy.

Oh, and since I haven’t gloated about it yet: Zac Stacy! Wooh! This is mostly me getting lucky and not having any great insight (would’ve taken Knile Davis instead if he’d still been on the board), but I don’t care. Yippee!

I went back and forth debating if I should start Cutler or Cam Newton. I finally went with Cam, and I’m kicking myself after watching Cutler in the first drive of the game.

Hamlet’s team is loaded and I pretty much need to win out to have any chance of making the playoffs.

I don’t think anyone would be eager to start the Rams defense against the Colts, but shit, that may be the difference of whether my season ends well or not.

Riley Cooper was a very expensive, $52, waiver claim, but he’s proving his worth every dollar spent. 23.70 fantasy points as of right now and I’ll need every single point to hopefully pull this game out.

Demaryius Thomas to the rescue. I checked the stats on the Thursday game at one point to see how Christian Ponder was doing, and it said he had 22 points in the third quarter. I was pretty relieved. But since then it’s been 15 points. I guess maybe he had a rushing touchdown called back or something and I just happened to look in the brief moment before it was rolled back?

My season has really gone to shit because of the points against issue. Now it’s going to shit because of injury, but if I had been like 7-2 instead of 5-4 by playing against an average difficulty schedule, I’d have much more breathing room. Now I’m in serious danger of going 5-5 and eventually missing the playoffs.

Today is going to be a close one. Gotta hope Romo has a bad day. If I had started the Rams I’d be okay, but, who’d have done that?

Yahoo thinks our game is a total tossup right now, 50/50. I’m refreshing the page every few minutes while watching my DEF (Carolina) play against SF.

Romo and a 15 point lead against Mike James, Dan Bailey, and the TB defense. I’d have to say you’re a 2:1 favorite here at least, but Romo can always have a bad day. Ugh. Last week I was the league’s point leader, and this week I may be 5-5 and a long shot for the playoffs.

We’ll see. I wouldn’t put it past the Miami offense to totally implode and you give you a 20+ point performance from Tampa’s DEF. And who knows what to expect from Mike James after last week’s huge game (oh, and Miami has a shitty run defense).

But yeah, probably the game hinges on my QB. Romo puts up 25 points? I should win. Romo puts up 10 points? Uh-oh. And this makes my nervous:

I need Jimmy Graham to score less than 34.5 to get a win this week, despite the fact Vernon Davis left with an injury and got me only .7 points.

I also need Jimmy Graham to score me more than 23 points in my money league.

C’mon Jimmy Graham, have a great game, but not too great!.
