It’s surprising how hard it can be to find cuts. All the players on my team are players on my team specifically because I like them for some reason, see good potential, etc. I want to have at least 3 picks in every draft (preferably more like 5-6), and since I’m starting with 27 on my roster I need to cut 5 players. I don’t have a powerhouse roster top-to-bottom, but finding 5 is painful.
I have a 2nd Kicker and a 3rd DEF, so that’s two. But after that I have to cut 3 of the following 4: Daniel Thomas, Jon Baldwin, Roy Helu, and Jonathan Dwyer.
Ok, Dwyer looks like the odd man out in Pittsburgh, that’s one. But the other three I can make a case that I’d rather stand pat than have a 3rd Rounder in this year’s draft. Probably most other people wouldn’t see it that way.
I’ll be cutting Beanie Wells (too sucky), Tony Scheffler (too non-productively), Mike Goodson (too gun possess-y), Evan Royster (too not Alfred Morris-y), and the Colts defense (too not defensively).
That leaves me with a active roster of 22 spots, because I had to move a couple guys from IR to the active roster. So I should have 3 draft picks this year, which is fine by me given this class.
I kinda like my team once again this year, but fantasy football is a fickle bitch-goddess (Percy Harvin, where for art thou?), so I’m anything but confident. I’m walking the tightrope at the QB position (I think RGIII’s value takes a huge hit because of the injury), but I have some great RB’s (3 of the top 10), and some hope at WR.
Ok, so maybe I’m NOT totally off base.
I’m looking for a trade. I’d like to package 2-3 of the following players in exchange for one player, probably a player of a similar ilk who happens to be slightly better than the best player from my side. Two quarters for a 30-cent piece, basically.
Daniel Thomas
Roy Helu
Jonathan Stewart
Robert Turbin
Joique Bell
Jonathan Dwyer
Michael Crabtree (injured)
Jon Baldwin
Mohammed Sanu
Michael Floyd
Jermaine Gresham?
Does anyone know what Gresham is worth? I sure don’t.
Through sheer coincidence, I ended up with 3 Browns WRs. I only had Josh Gordon, but then Bess was traded to them and David Nelson was signed as a free agent, and both of those guys were on my bench. I actually rather like both of those guys, but I guess I should probably cut Nelson. It’s hard for me to find cuts in this shitty draft, I may end up settling for having 1 or 2 picks.
I’m glad to see I picked up Jordan Cameron too. I was worried I forgot to pick him up at the end of the year and I’d have to hope he fell to my first round pick. Gronk isn’t gonna be up to snuff for a while but Cameron has breakout potential.
I know that ESPN has a policy this year in football that they will not change a player’s position eligibility once they have opened leagues. So, Patrick Peterson will not be available in ESPN leagues, regardless of how much work he gets on offense this year.
Does Yahoo have this same policy, I know they did have Joe Webb one year listed as QB and WR.
You have no idea how hard it is for me to make cuts. I have to talk myself into every one. Especially in a year with such a crappy draft.
26 players, cutting Kevin Ogletree, David Nelson, James Starks, Donnie Avery. Avery is kind of a surprise cut because they’re talking him up as a #2, but it’s hard to think that any chiefs receiver other than Bowe will amount to anything. Anyway that should give me first second and third round picks.
My cut list, should be much longer but I don’t see a ton of value in hanging around the end of the draft dueling for scraps with RNATB. I’ll just use the waiver wire/free agency:
Dustin Keller
Jahvid Best
Kevin Boss
Tim Tebow
Darius Reynaud
Kevin Walter
