SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Four

I believe Jacobs is behind Kendall Hunter on the depth chart, but you’re right that Jacobs would see more carries with a Gore injury.

Somehow my last draft pick got cropped there. I picked Indy rookie TE Dwayne Allen at 4.2. He’s a nice addition there I think and could be the Hernandez to Fleener’s Gronk. Assuming Luck is all he’s cracked up to be having one of his targets who’ll be there for at least 3 years is great.

My team is a serious rebuilding project, when I took it over it was in dire, dire condition. Still has a long ways to go and I think the odds of me being 8th is pretty slim. But look at where my team is compared to what I inherited:

Matt Cassel (KC - QB)
Kerry Collins (Ten - QB)
Tarvaris Jackson (Min - QB)
Ben Roethlisberger (Pit - QB)
Joseph Addai (Ind - RB)
Kevin Faulk (NE - RB)
BenJarvus Green-Ellis (NE - RB)
Clinton Portis (Was - RB)
DeAngelo Williams (Car - RB)
Reggie Brown (TB - WR)
Mark Clayton (Bal - WR)
Kevin Curtis (Phi - WR)
Sinorice Moss (NYG - WR)
Terrell Owens (Buf - WR)
Antwaan Randle El (Pit - WR)
John Standeford (Det - WR)
Hines Ward (Pit - WR)
Nate Washington (Ten - WR)
Wes Welker (NE - WR)
Dallas Clark (Ind - TE)
Donald Lee (GB - TE)
Kris Brown (Hou - K)
Nick Folk (NYJ - K)
Carolina (Car - DEF)
Tennessee (Ten - DEF)

Not a single valuable young player in that list. Made all the worse by the fact that I cut BJGE prior to the draft and didn’t get anyone worth a squirt in my first draft (Naanee is the 1st round? Yeesh.)

Looking forward in the course of the last 2 drafts I’ve put together a pretty good roster of high upside youngsters who could be league leaders in 2-3 years. If I win this thing in the next 3 years while basically turning over the entire roster it’ll be an accomplishment. Still have a lot of work to do at RB, but I think I’m getting pretty close to finishing the job at QB, WR and TE.

I customized our schedule – it’s the same as in previous years. And once again, each division’s top two from last year will face each other in the last week of our regular season.

Stephen Hill sons!

89 yards 2 tds

Figured he’d need a few years to learn the game but he’s already better than Calvin Johnson. Only upside from here.

I hate to break it to you, but he’s on your bench. As is Brandon Wheedon and his negative points scored this week.

Oh I don’t require him for mere technicalities like regular season wins. Dynasty, sons.

Georgia Tech receivers! Should I collect them all?!

I think the point is that you don’t get to crow about drafting him when you also drafted Brandon Weeden,

Weeden is fine. I had 1 qb on my roster and there are no starters left to Draft and I got him with the last pick of the third. Even if he’s the worst starter in the league I needed something. If anything I’d think you’d be mocking trading up for Richardson,

If you’re looking for a QB, I do have a spare.

I also have Cam Newton available for trade, looking for a WR.

I might trade for a QB, but not of Cam Newton’s caliber - I’m starting Rodgers every week he can play, so I only really need a backup or developmental player unless he gets seriously hurt.

Question - we have 2 IR slots on our roster, right? Could I place a guy in the IR slot and later cut him? Like if 2 more guys go onto IR, and I preferred to use the IR slots for them instead, I could just cut the first guy I put on IR later, right?

How do you actually put a player on IR? My roster appears locked so I don’t know if I can do it, but how would you do it normally?

Okay, here’s the thing - I may not be around on a computer tomorrow before you have to put in waiver claims on players. I want to put David Nelson in an IR slot, thereby freeing up a slot to pick up someone off waivers. But because I can’t figure out how to set Nelson on IR now, I’m just going to have it set up to cut him to pick up the new player.

I’ll try to figure out how to IR him tomorrow before the actual pickup/drop happens, but like I said I may not be on a PC in time, so I might not. But I’m declaring my intent now so it can be retroactively fixed later if necesary.

When you go to move a player eligible to be put on IR (they need the red IR tag), an IR slot will open up at the bottom below your bench players. Just drop them down there and you’re good to go.

Wow, way to go, Yahoo! They now offer a “recap” of each matchup, with all sorts of stats and graphs. Excerpts from the recap of my game with Justin:

And then there are the graphs. Really, this is very cool.

I’ve got a lovely Christian Ponder going for a song. Wait, not a song. A running back.

That is seriously awesome. Although I would have liked to see a best possible score graph for both of us.

$94 for Ogletree? Seems excessive.

Stephen Hill went for $100 in the Big League, and Ogletree was actually drafted there.

That surprises me less. We have 36 starting WRs but the big league I assume has 50+.
