I think that means furt is up.

Woops, didn’t notice, just saw the midnight time and thought we were going.

Every 6 picks or so I’d suggest someone post the updated list of drafted players.

With the 6th overall pick in the 2012 draft, furt’s Fightin’ Quakers select Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks.

**RNATB **is on the clock.
1.1 – Exploding Pancakes – Trent Richardson, RB, Cleveland
1.2 – Ides of Martz – Andrew Luck, RB, Indianapolis
1.3 – CuteWiddleBunny – Robert Griffin III, QB, Washington
1.4 – New York Fanboys – David Wilson, RB, NY Giants
1.5 – Isotopes – Doug Martin, RB, Tampa Bay
1.6 – Fightin’ Quakers – Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle
1.7 – Nine Inch Neils (RNATB)
1.8 – Varlos’ Zzzzzzz
1.9 – RetroVertigo
1.10 – The Gusterrhoids
1.11 – We Do HGH
1.12 – Exploding Pancakes

I’ve also entered the picks as keepers on the yahoo page, so you can see where we are, and also the available players list will be more helpful. I won’t be doing this after every single pick, though, so don’t take it as gospel.

Last one: I’m not in love with any of the players I’ll have to choose from with the 8th pick, so if there’s someone you like you should probable contact me about a trade.

I HATE YOU PETEY. I was really hoping Martin would fall. Oh well; guess this pick is pretty much made for me.

Holding my nose and taking… Justin Blackmon, WR, Jacksonville.

I’m up. I’ll need a little bit of time to take care of some business and to get a good look at the potential picks. While I’m doing that, again, feel free to shoot me an offer if you want someone on the board.

That is a good pick. I was also hoping he, for some unexplained reason, would fall to my pick.

I really don’t get the Doug Martin love. Well, I understand that he’ll be getting the opportunities in Tampa Bay, thanks to Blount, but I really don’t see him as all that talented. His inflated Boise State numbers don’t impress me, the games I’ve seen of him don’t impress me, and his 3.1 ypc in preseason doesn’t impress me. Although he’s gotten labelled as “versatile” or “a three down back”, he’s not a game changer. He’s got no burst, fumbles too often, and is just too damn slow to be anything more than a plodder.

I suppose there is certainly a place for him based solely on opportunities, but he has never impressed me.

But what do I know.

He ran a 4.55 at 223 pounds. He’s not fast, but he’s hardly slow. Anyway, it’s not necessarily than I desperately don’t want Martin; it’s more that I have no interest whatsoever in any of the other players remaining.

Blackmon was the obvious choice at the spot, but it’s a 50/50 chance he doesn’t get into legal trouble, he’s got a better than even chance of playing with a shitty quarterback for his first two seasons, and that’s on top of the ever-present chance that he’s a natural bust.

For me it is that he will get his chances, this year. A lot of the other backs are just as talented, or more so, but they sit behind entrenched starters. For my team (I made the playoffs last year, so I’m looking to compete this year for a championship) I’m looking for someone who can contribute now.

Don’t worry, I haven’t fallen down a well or anything. I pretty much know who I’m taking if I keep the pick, but I’m working on a couple of potential deals.

And I’m with Hamlet on Doug Martin. It’s a minority opinion, but I’m actually more interested in the Giants’ David Wilson: less likely to be regular contributor, but more likely to be a stud.

Alright, trade talks fell through.

With the 8th pick, VarlosZ selects Michael Floyd, WR, Arizona.

RetroVertigo is on the clock.

Tampa also has a superb Raiders-style road-grading line, though you’d never know it to look at Blount’s stats from last year. Davin Joseph is the best run-blocker in the league with Hutchinson’s decline, and it’s not close.

Is Doug Martin the guy I was creaming over in the draft thread because he has that 1 step change of direction move? Cause that shit is worth more than running a 4.3.

VarlosZ sends WR Mike Williams (TB) to RNATB in exchange for the rights to WR Justin Blackmon.

I’ll probably put it through on the yahoo page after the draft so as not to confuse the history.

  1. Man that’s even more homerish than my shit
  2. Now you’ve got enough WR talent to ditch Calvin Johnson

I think Mike Williams is the most traded player in this league with twice. Are there any others who have been traded twice?
