SDMB FF Dynasty League: Year Six

Aaargh. Swapped Rashad Jennings for Woodhead at the last minute. Jennings goes off, Woodhead is carted off after one carry.

What the balls? I might be falling 2.5 games behind in my division. How did Detroit of all teams completely shut down Green Bay?

As a side note…what in gods name is wrong with Brady this year? Is he just cooked, or are his weapons that terrible? Seems like he never completes a pass longer than 4 yards any more.

ETA: Posted this in the wrong thread…but I’ll leave it.

Bwahaha!

Missed this thread, originally posted to the Week 3 thread but I’ll crosspost here for posterity:

I saw this coming a mile away, and was pleasantly vindicated. So confident that I pulled my starters to put in Eli, the Giants DEF, and Donnell in our fantasy matchup in the dynasty league. Happily, they played exactly as I expected.

Next week, however, is against what is technically a backup quarterback, so I see 1-3 coming. The Giants can’t beat a backup QB to save their life. (Which is why last week was a loss.)

EDIT: The thing I’m happiest about is picking up Corey Washington, who could very well be the next Victor Cruz.

EDIT 2: Well, huh. Looks like I would have scored even higher if I’d stuck with my starters. (Big Ben, Steelers D, Martellus Bennett.) So much for following hunches.

Sigh

Lost to **Ellis **by 10. It’s my own fault. Sunday morning I strongly considered playing both of the Lions RBs (putting Reggie Bush in for Sammy Watkins, to go along with Joique Bell), figuring that as a big favorite, as long as I could guarantee capturing all of Detroit’s RB value (even if it took up two roster spots), that would go a long way to ensuring victory. Would have swung the game if I had.

What the dickswaggle is up with my team this year? Two mediocre performances surrounding the highest scoring performance of the year. I’m two games and a tiebreaker behind for my division lead. The wildcard is probably going to come from our division and it might not even be me. I might finish third, behind two teams that started 3-0.

Or maybe it’s a flukey start. Three weeks isn’t a very large sample size. But this is concerning. I’d be baffled if I missed the playoffs.

The entire league is upside-down right now. And scoring is all over the map thanks a rash of suspensions and injuries. Maybe things will settle down, but I think we’re all in for a few of these :smack: all season.

Fantasy in general seems to have been unpredictable these first three weeks, with studs going nowhere and production coming from random places.

I’m down Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles, two of the consensus 3 top picks in a redraft league. My highest scoring WR (until Brandon Marshall plays tonight) is a rookie Kelvin Benjamin and the ancient Steve Smith. And Kirk Cousins is the #11 QB, despite starting only one game.

Bizarre start to the NFL season, and bizarre start to this year. Time to adjust.

NFL.com: “Brandon Marshall questionable to return”.

Of course he is. He’s on my team isn’t he.

Oh man, that would have killed me. If that had happened, I would have only lost because of my hunch that the Giants would play well. My “regular” starters (Big Ben, Steelers D, Martellus Bennett) did much better than my Giants substitutes.

First place, son(s)! Starting the Texans defense killed me in every other SDMB league this week. Between that and Danny Woodhead this win is a pleasant surprise.

Still looking to trade for a TE, incidentally, especially since I’m now down to third string.

Charles Clay is looking pretty good right about now, isn’t he?

I am never trading a TE to/from you again. Every player I get from you goes straight on IR.

I’ll give you Gronkowski for Andre Ellington.

There are two undefeated teams in our league - both of them are in my division.

Average scores:
Northeast - 322
Midwest - 318
Sunbelt - 351

Everyone in the sunbelt team is above the average. In fact only two teams outside of our division are above our lowest scorer.

And lucky for me, we have 2 divisional games in the first 3 weeks.

If I knew I could have Gronk I wouldn’t have taken James Fucking Jones, that’s for sure (though he’s actually been pretty productive for the Rrrraiders.)

Ellis and I have agreed to a trade. He gets Rashad Jennings and Jericho Cotchery. I get Martellus Bennett and the PT Bruiser.

ETA: Yahoo says I’m getting hosed, but I need a TE if I’m going to compete this year (ASJ is probably not the guy for another season even when healthy) and I don’t trust Jennings at all.

You couldn’t have had Gronk when we made the trade. Ellington was still the shifty third down back with no indication they’d try to make him a bell cow in the future. He was a lottery ticket that hopefully pays off.

And I was going to say - James Fucking Jones is actually doing fairly well.

Yahoo still projects that I will win the rest of my games and finish the league leading in scoring. We’re over the rough patch!

Also, have you seen what week 4 byes do to me? I’m going to have to start Trent Richardson.

Demaryius Thomas, Andre Ellington, Jordan Cameron, Baby Hawk, Kenny Britt, all on bye. It currently lists McCoy as out, although I don’t think that’s going to stick. Cleveland and St. Louis defenses are also gone. I have to scrape up a team. Bobby Rainey, probably not even starting, Trent Richardson, and Jags rookie Allen Robin.

Rodgers to Nelson, can you do that 209/2 thing again?
