All fantasy football problems are first world problems.
My Green Bay players, despite putting up 42 points , came in significantly under their projection. How is that not a legitimate complaint? It doesn’t matter if he has 3 TDs if that’s all he has and he’s going to be like the 14th highest scoring QB this week.
I was attempting to juxtapose the concept of first world vs. third world problems to fantasy football in a humorous manner to elicit a chuckle when someone sees the difference between losing a stud for a year (third world), and having a player come in under their projections (first world). The necessity of explanation, however, has throttled to death any humor in the concept.
Complain away. But Rodgers was only 3 points under his projection and Nelson was only 4, which doesn’t, to me, raise much righteous indignation in me. I feel worse for dale, who had the previously woeful Packers D (who was the 14th ranked D this week) drop 26 (three TIMES the projections) on them. Or someone who loses a stud player for the rest of the season this weekend (which will likely happen).
C’mon man. You have a top 10 running back in Reshad Jennings.
Oh. Wait.
Well, you have Gio Bernard, who, if you ask Foie Gras Is Evil, is a massive stud.
And you haven’t suffered any injuries. It’s not like you had a top 10 RB in weeks one and two go out with injury. Or a potential stud TE whose replacement was tearing it up, who hasn’t played outside of one catch this year. Or a little scatback flex option who would have been in line for more carries, but instead is on injured reserve.
Yeah, I’ve been totally lucky that way. Let’s not forget not having all five of my quarterback’s starting offensive linemen miss significant time, with three on IR.
You bastard. sniffle That said, if anyone wants to invest in Jordan Reed for the massive upside I’m always being told about, now’s the time. I don’t really want to carry three TEs on my roster. I’d probably want a backup QB in return coughRomocough.
Losing a player to injury just sucks. Legit sucks. Having a team that you own the main pieces of score 42 points and yet somehow not really put up good fantasy production is just frustrating. It’s not “shit, I’m gonna lose because this guy broke his ankle”, it’s “Oh great, they have an offensive explosion and somehow I’m still not going to get points from them” - I’m not trying to suggest it’s on the same tier.
And yet it ultimately is frustrating the Packers had a big day and somehow I got barely any of it.
Gonna need some great 2nd halves to withstand Beef’s advantage in the late games.
And would it fucking kill the Lions to either throw Calvin Johnson the ball or make him inactive? Christ, guys, the other team is gonna catch on to the whole “decoy” thing pretty damn quick, especially when you did it last week, too.
Looking decent for RNATB. I’m rooting for him because he’s playing the other guy ahead of me in the division, and I’d rather have them both 4-1 than one 5-0, since it’ll be easier to pass both of them. Although I guess that could potentially hurt my wildcard chances.
Well at least you don’t have to suffer a nailbiter. Looking like it’s going to be the second week I’ve been the top scorer in the league, although Omni is in the running. The race to the playoffs is going to be pretty tight this year.
