SDMB Newbie Diplomacy game

FYI, the retreat and summer map are up and mailed.

Deadline in 22½ hours.

Ah, fresh Pasta and warm bread. You know, there’s something to this using of vehicles to get things from place to place.

To bad it has no practical application on the battlefield.

What’s that, General Zhukov? WHAT???

Excuse me.

You should really read the book August 1914 by Solzhenitsyn(sp?). Pretty much sums up your situation.

I like Solzheneitzen. I’ll see if I can dig it up.

i think its generally spelt “Solzhenitsyn”

When’s that deadline again?

Nine minutes ago, if the time on the page is correct.

Deadline has passed and I’m again missing one set orders. I’ll get the results out ASAP.

Il Supe sits in his war room, awaiting news from the Fall. It is just into late November, and the Harvest Moon is in the sky. He takes a swig of some fine Italian red wine, when one of his generals walks in…

General Capellini: “Sir, I have news from the front. I have good news and bad news.”

Il Supe: “Thank you, general. Please give the good news first.”

General Capellini: “Well, sir, all of our military operations were successes. We met little resistance. Specifically, our landing in Syria has been successful.”

Il Supe: “Wonderful. We now control the world’s oil supply. Give Admiral Giovanni Tortellini my congratulations and sincere thanks. What about the bad news?”

General Capellini: “We see French ships mobilizing in the West. According to reports, she has not only mobilized against us, but has actually conquered territories belonging to two other sovereigns!”

Il Supe: “Three enemies? Even I was smart enough to just go after one.”

General Capellini: “Yes sir. Should I convene your war council?”

Il Supe: “At once. Send packages of the finest Tuscan wine to England and Germany. We have a common enemy.”

General Capellini: “Right away sir.”

Adjudiation is out, and its really interesting. Should inspire some chatter for sure.

I’ll try and get the webpage up when I can.

can someone forward the email to the address in my profile?

pretty please…

Wow, I get to be someone’s bad news. That’s a first!

Nice biography, garius.

Ta Jayla

Suffice to say that i’m not a very happy bunny

Oddly enough, for the first time outside of Shib’s little reign, I’m not the reason for the delay this time :o

Awww… your Grace, the news that you are unhappy truly saddens me. Honestly.

i bet it does.

care to lend a guy who stabbed you a couple of armies…

A lot of wild stuff in that round. Sorry, garius.

What I think of the situation:

England: Excellent position if it weren’t for the French. The Scandanavian do-si-so will have to come to an end sooner or later. Be sure you’re on top. Build ships during the winter.

Germany: Ally with England for the common goal of defeating France. The last thing you want is a well equipped land force across the Rhine.

Russia: You are de facto allied with France because of England. Keep your capitals, and perhaps bargain with your Ukrainian troop.

Italy: Divide Turkey up with Austria. You get smy, he gets con. Use the new builds to take care of France.

Austria: Be worried about the French getting too far east. Divying up Turkey with Italy is good for you both. Eradicate Turkey.

Turkey: The Black Sea is important. Ally with France if you haven’t already. You need pressure on Italy and Austria.

France: You’ve dug yourself quite a situation by stabbing two countries and apparently stabbing a third. Make peace with Italy. You might survive against England and Germany, but you can’t afford another front. Hold Munich. It is a great piece of property.

The -GRY webpage has been updated. Soak it in folks. Players, get your builds in ASAP, sorry for the delay in getting the retreats out.

I’m going to rush to get my builds in… oh wait.

Damn.
