Sdmb nfl mock draft

Leftwich isn’t worth much, so might as well draft a QB. I still like Dennis Dixon, but I’m an Oregon homer.

I don’t know much about Dixon. The only time I saw him play was against the Ravens.

Is he a pocket passer or is he a run-first qb?

Dixon ran a lot working out of a spread-option offense, but by Og he has a beautiful touch to his throws. You don’t have a 20-4 TD-to-Int ratio and a 67% completion rating and not have passing skills.

Oregon would’ve won the National Championship his senior season if Dixon (and a couple other guys) had stayed healthy. That offense was simply unstoppable.

Can another Eagle fan fill in here? Gimme 5 minutes.

All yours.

:frowning: Don’t remind me.

Earl Mitchell, DT, Arizona.
CNNSI calls him a 2/3 rounder. Woohoo!

Green Bay Packers select Darrell Stuckey, SS, Kansas.

Unlike the earlier picks, this one was a tough decision between Stuckey or Kam Chancellor. In the end, Stuckey’s versatility and work on special teams gets him the nod. I think Dom Capers will like a guy like this.

Arizona Cardinals (via proxy) select John Skelton, QB Fordham.

New York Jets (proxy) select Major Wright, S, Florida.

My all-name team is flying off the board now.

Dallas Cowboys (proxy) select Amari Spievey, CB, Iowa.

Chargers are up.

TheBoltEater is around, so we’ll give him time to select.

More of a pass-catcher than a blocker, but after losing Manumaleuna the Bolts need another TE and this guy’s too good to pass up in the 4th.

The Chargers select Aaron Hernandez, TE, Florida.

Nice pick. I’d be worried that he was too much a product of the Florida-style offense (like Chase Coffman), but hell, he won the Mackey Award so he’s great value in the 4th.

Seahawks (Omni) are up.

I had to re-read the draft list 3 times to prove to myself he hadn’t been taken already. I really think the Bolts want a blocking TE and will wait til later to get one - but Hernandez in the 4th is excellent value.

You have got to be fucking kidding me. The Bills draft plan just went up in smoke.

Pete Carroll goes a little loopy and grabs another Trojan, for better or worse.

Seattle Seahawks
127) Kevin Thomas, CB, USC

Actually, he wasn’t my choice; I had another QB rated higher. Lots higher. Skelton is the latest in the line of Jim Druckenmiller, Kyle Boller line of good size/strong arm prototypical QB’s who get overdrafted and lack the accuracy and smarts to really succeed in the NFL. At least I haven’t heard anyone talking about taking him in the first round like Joe Flacco.

Minnesota Vikings select Mitch Petrus, OG, Arkansas.

Steve Hutchinson is going to be 33.

Indianapolis Colts select Walter Thurmond, CB, Oregon.

Too good of value, even with injury concerns.

Saints are up.
