I searched the boards for a pick em or survival league and didn’t see anything. I didn’t do that extensive a search because the boards are extremely slow right now, so if I missed another league, sorry.
We have lots of fantasy football leagues going for the SDMB, so I thought it’d be fun if we also had pro pick 'em (pick the winners of every game) and a survival (pick one game a week a where you have to be right to survive) league.
Everyone is invited, and these leagues can practically hold a lot more people than the FFL leagues, so I hope we can get a lot of players.
If anyone has a preference on the Pick 'em league in terms of picking against the spread or not, confidence points or not, feel free to chime in. My current settings are: no spread, yes to confidence points, picking up until 5 minutes before each game.
Excuse the late start with only 3 hours to the start of the first game - but we should be all set before opening Sunday.
Looks like… every week you get 16 confidence rankings. The game you’re most sure about you give your highest confidence ranking - and I assume more points are won or lost on that game. The game you think is the closest call, give the least confidence to your pick, and risk the fewest points.
I just tried to sign up and it let me go through the whole process up until the point where it gave me an error for already being in the group, so it doesn’t seem that registration is closed yet.
Well I have successfully signed up for the survival league. Can’t seem to get into the pick em league though. The week two choice seemed obvious to me, but I hate to waste them this early. I will keep trying to get into the other league.
