I’m impressed! My point-and-shoot Canon is too slow for hummingbirds most of the time.

Thanks! This was taken with a Canon SLR - shutter speed of 1/320. I could have gone quicker as the lens opens to f/1.4 and this was at f/4. But I think I was struggling with the tiny depth of field that such a wide aperture creates. Those little birds were constantly darting back and forth.

Nice hummingbirds. I might consider cropping out the out-of-focus guy though.

I love this because you don’t know what it is. If you squint hard enough it’s the shadow of a gigantic giraffe head being case across a running track.

Northern coast of Lake Michigan, taken in late September.

Nice. Did you use a tripod to get that shot? I like experimenting with long exposures on a tripod for night shots.

I had thought about posting my best hummingbird photo before going with the kudzu.

What the heck, since we’re doing boids…

Oh, that’s lovely!

A family trip to Pictured Rocks, pic taken off a tour boat. I wish I had been one of those kayakers under the arch that day.

Nice! I was there last year. We were on a boat but not a kayak.

I was just there, but rough weather cancelled my tour boat. I will be back.

Love this - It wound make a confounding jigsaw puzzle!

No, leave the out-of-focus one in the picture. It makes the picture more interesting-- contributes to the sense of movement.

That was 4 or 5 years ago. I wonder if that particular arch even exists anymore, since I know there have been a couple shoreline collapses in the past couple years.

Even if it is still there, it won’t last forever, because those cliffs are made out of soft sandstone,

My favorite from my garden this summer. I love how the colors pop.

I wish we could give “likes” on this thread. The photos are awesome!

I may agree if the out-of-focus birdie were in the background instead of the foreground.

That said, I’m happy to have friendly disagreements in the thread.
