This is incredible. Great shot!
He does not look happy.
I did try cropping it but I prefer this one. I think the out-of-focus bird fills the space really nicely. Plus I have a thing about using the original framing from the camera when possible… just to keep a bit of purity in the art.
You ask, here I go. I don’t do photos, I do snapshots (Samsung smartphone):
But sometimes they turn out nice.
The others are awesome. I love aurora_maire, Railer13, beowulf, Darren_Garrison… heck, I like them all!
My thumb is up.
mmm
I actually got the shot by laying the camera down on top of one of those “siamese sprinker” attachments that are there for the fire department in case the building catches on fire.
Nice stable surface for long exposure and aperture settings.
Way to innovate! I did much the same when I was in Sydney with no tripod. I wanted a long exposure shot of the Opera House, so I set my camera on a concrete post and waited (and waited) for an opening to get a shot (it was very crowded, lots of folks waking in front of my lens).
Just another snapshot taken in Georgian Bay, back in my boating days. We were at anchor in a little inlet for the night. This area is truly God’s Country, the sort of place when you can aim a cheap low-res digital camera like I had at the time, and almost every picture turns out like a painting.
That’s a very nice picture. I am a fan of ominous skies, and those clouds are perfect.
This photo was taken of the World Trade Center in the early '90s. I was standing precisely between the two buildings, looking straight up.
And of course, the source of my avatar: the 2004 Transit of Venus, observed from Vienna. A 6.5-hour multiple exposure.
I took this on my recent trip to Mexico, it was on the roof of a hotel where we had dinner. I thought it came out pretty good for something I just took on my phone.

This is incredible. Great shot!
I posted that on Imgur today just for the purpose of this thread, but it has made the “most viral” category over there now.
