Such a Scrooge.
Just wait until after the 20th!
According to Foxsports, Favre is listed as probable for this game due to a “coaches decision,” not an injury. NFL News, Scores, Standings & Stats | FOX Sports
WTF? Anyone see anything like this before?
Just saving him. Their playoffs depend on him playing well. Never hurts to give the backup more game time either. It is all good.
Lions are doing it with Stafford too. But they are thinking of next year. He has had a good years experience. I imagine he will have trouble sleeping when training camp comes next year and he knows what a beating he will face.
Hm. They haven’t even clinched the division. Not exactly time to be throwing games.
SHIT! The Vikings are trying to exploit the Bengals main weakness on defense, which is an inability to stop making backup QB’s look like Johnny Unitas!
Dammit! Please, please, please play Brett Favre!
Bears/Packers week is once again upon us. And after needing 4 interceptions by Cutler to eke out a win in Week One at home, I’m not overconfident playing the Bears at Soldier Field. Especially after losing two pro bowlers on defense, and having to rely on a couple senior citizens at the tackle positions on the O Line.
But this isn’t the same Packers team; their O Line has improved, their playcalling is astoundingly smarter now, and they’re in the playoff hunt. And it’s not the same Bears team.
The Packers should win this one easily. But Bears/Packers games are always tough.
Weird. I didn’t feel like the Vikings really dominated the game, but they won by 20 points. The Bengals played well, just fell short and didn’t have any big game-changing breaks. Vikings played well despite losing one of their biggest offensive threats in Percy Harvin and one of their biggest defensive cornerstones in EJ Henderson, who is gone for the season.
Obviously both teams will be in the play offs, but I doubt this game was a Super Bowl preview.
Packers win, Saints win. The Vikes fate as two seed is looking more and more like a done deal.
The Bears played like crap and I still feel like we should have won that game. The defense played as well as they have played all season and the WRs and O Line completely let the team down. The coaching was abysmal which is becoming a trend and the Special Teams were as bad as I’ve ever seen. I feel sick.
The Bears pass defense played very well, and, but for the 62 yard TD by Grant, not horribly against the run. And they got two turnovers.
But there was no way you guys “should have won”. Cutler threw two really stupid interceptions, the running game was pedestrian at best, and the O Line was horrid. The Packers made way too many mistakes, but, luckily, it didn’t kill them.
Does it ever get old acting so fucking petulant?
“Should have won” is a figure of speech. Do you have some fictional definition for it that makes it not subjective?
The Bears gave up a big play to Grant and gave them the ball in scoring position at least twice. Every time we had an opportunity to capture momentum the offensive line gagged and committed a penalty. We surrendered field position all game long. If not for the preventable mistakes we would have won the game. And yes, if not for the Packers mistakes they might have won more handily. But they gave us a chance and we didn’t take it.
Would you care to piss into the wind some more?
My feeling is that the Bears absolutely had the potential to win the game in the second half, but they couldn’t close the deal. It’s not so much that the Packers won, as the Bears lost.
Oddly enough, in my world, should have won means, oh I don’t know, maybe “should have won”. It doesn’t mean “I wish they would have won” or “if the Bears didn’t suck so much, they might have won”. Funny thing about words, they tend to mean what they mean. I know you’re all pissy about losing, but the fact is the Bears didn’t deserve to win, they “should” not have won, and, in the end, they didn’t win.
When a team comes into your stadium and plays poorly you absolutely should win the football game. The Packers did and the Bears should have. The Bears weren’t over matched and they weren’t out of the game.
I know this is the SDMB but being a fucking pedant 24/7 is not a desirable quality.
Dude, you’re not going to win this one. If your team plays poorly in any stadium you should lose.
Both teams played poorly, nobody should have won. You’re a fucking genius! Thanks for the insight.
Nevermind.
Yes please, lets continue belaboring my choice of words as opposed to talking about football. Because that’s all so much fun for everyone.
You know what IS fun. Watching a Bears fan turning into a whiny little bitch after a loss to the Packers. It’s a fucking blast.
