Would love to do a local Dopefest. I was away from the board for a week or so and I missed this thread (of course)! But I was one of the few (actually, TWO!) who made it to the inaugural PNW Dopefest last year.
Anytime, anyplace is okay with me. (Um, do I sound too eager?)
Do we have to wait till November? Let’s do a warm-up earlier and do it again when JohnnyLA comes to town.

Well, as I said before, please either make it somewhere easy to find, or take pity on me and meet me somewhere easy and give me a ride. I can get to Northgate pretty comfortably, but I don’t do well south of that.
Yeah, I distinctly remember the “Lynnwood Beauty Academy” sketch, with the Patented Lynnwood Wall-o-Bangs™. Kent is the land of the ball caps, pickups, and lazy Boeing employees.
Of course, everyone remembers the “Ballard Driving Academy”, right?
I’m in – just let me know where & when. I will arrange my travel schedule to be there. Since there’s been no consensus, might I suggest Friday, the 13th of October?
I would prefer a northerly location, as I’m up on Whidbey. Anybody have any suggestions in the University area? That’s close to downtown, all the bus lines have a way to get there, and there is a surfiet of interesting looking tavern/restaurants.
Hmmm, I’m pretty busy through October, too. I’m for trying the weekend in November when Johnny LA is in town (17th or 18th Nov), at least there’d be a chance to rope him in…
'course if any of you locals want to get together of an evening before then, I can get to a bar in the city pretty easily any night!
Since there aren’t very many of us, maybe we should work around BurnMeUp’s schedule. How about October 6th or 14th?
And Danalan, do you think we could meet somewhere along the line and carpool? My sister lives in Edmonds, so if that is the ferry you use, I could easily meet you somewhere there. (Pardon me if I have totally the wrong ferry here, I am geographically impaired.) Or, Mukilteo would be good, too.
rjk, if you can come, you could come to B"ham and meet me, if you wish, and we could hook up with Danalan down south.
And I do think we should do it again when JohnneyLA comes to town, if he can manage it. It does sound as though he is going to be busy, so it may not be possible.
I’m really, really looking forward to meeting everyone. Enough so that if I can’t carpool with someone, I will make the supreme sacrifice and brave the streets of Seattle alone! (gulp) If I need to do this, I need EXTREMELY GOOD directions.
The 6th I can do, but not the 14th (so it’ll be the 14th, won’t it? ) I’ve only been here since February, but I’ve been lost enough times that I kinda know my way around now, so I can certainly help with directions…
If we want to do another when JohhnyLA is here we should probably have it in Bellingham. That would be more convenient for our Canadian friends, plus Scotti wouldn’t be scared to drive.
Reading back over this, I’ve tried to make a list of possibles and probables:

And it sounds like Two Dagos from Texas is the place (unless it’s hard to find), right?
Gee, Pluto, I didn’t mean to sound like a wuss, or anything. It is just that I am not used to driving like a Seattlite, and I have trouble getting off exits because in Bellingham when you put your blinker on, someone lets you in. When I drive in Seattle, no one EVER lets me in, and I am too timid to just barge on over. So I always end up missing my exit, and then I am totally lost and always majorly late. Consequently, I sort of quit driving there.
I usually just drive to my sister’s in Edmonds, and she drives from there. She is used to it.
But I assure you, I will come even if I have to drive myself. I’m not THAT scared.
