Pluto, thank you for doing all the work. If I can help, please let me know.

Pluto, thank you for doing all the work. If I can help, please let me know.
Scotti
Awww, I was just kidding Scotti.
Address for Two Dagos is 2600 1st Ave. I don’t know the area well enough to give anybody directions but it’s not far from the Seattle Center. Down toward the waterfront.
FWIW, Leo Kottke is performing in Bellingham on October 7th at the Mt. Baker Theater. If any of you know who Leo is, you already know you don’t want to miss him. If not, I will tell you all about him at our get-together and then you’ll wish you had bought tickets but it will be too late because it will be sold out.
Scotti, I would love to get a ride with you, even in Seattle. (You do have seat belts, right? ) And I can navigate reasonably well, as long as we have directions and I get to look at a map. That way you only need to steer and avoid the other vehicles.
I’d have to hop a bus to B’ham (or train?), and have no idea about schedules, but that can certainly be worked out.
Here’s hoping to see you all!
I do think that I can get to the Seattle Center area, and rjk, if we can hook up somewhere I’d be glad to pick you up. A navigator would make all the difference. (I hope)
And Pluto, I LOVE Leo Kottke, and believe it or not, I didn’t know he was going to be performing here. Thanks for the tip! “And I guess I owe it all to Marilyn Brown” IIRC.
I have him on tape, but haven’t listened to him lately. Loved him “then”, though, and still love him. I’ll have to look into getting tickets.
I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to meeting you all-I know I already said so, but I mean it so much that I have to keep repeating myself.
Onward and forward, and again Pluto-let me know if I can help. I gave you an inaccurate email address last time (it was new, and I got it wrong.) The correct one is scotticher@netzero.com Feel free to email me with concerns, questions, and requests for help. If I don’t answer, it is because the stupid thing is not working. In that case, post your email, and I will get back to you soonest.
If we do end up organizing a DopeFest in Bellingham, I will do the work here. We will just have to wait to hear from JohnnyLA about his itinerary. I’d love to see it happen.
WooHoo! I am finally going to be able to meet some Dopers!
PS-rjk, I drive a Saturn. Their main purpose in life is building a safe car. Of COURSE I have seatbelts! And if I didn’t have them, i would put them in, just for you, sweetie.
Believe it or not, that’s usually the way it works in Los Hideous! As a back-up plan, I tend to be a little agressive behind the wheel.
Glad to hear about the seat belts, Scotti. You can strap me up anytime.
::bump::
I’ll bump this today to see if we can catch any shy dopers.
If they don’t sign on after a while we an just assume they don’t like us.
For those of you who aren’t coming because of the guest list – could you please indicate just which people you are trying to avoid and we’ll disinvite them!
Hi All-
So a Seattle Dopefest on October 6 at the Two Dagos From Texas sounds like it might actually happen!
Thanks to everyone for keeping the ball rolling. I was feeling a little too shy to post, but I’m glad that people seem interested in doing this.
The Dagos is not hard to find, it is between downtown and the Seattle Center, on First Avenue. I will happily post directions, or arrange to meet at Northgate and carpool or caravan down to the restaurant.
The Dagos has terrific food, and terrific drink. It is a restaurant with a bar, but we’ll sit in the restaurant part. So, anyone who wants to bring kids or just doesn’t feel comfortable hanging out in a bar should feel very welcome.
Anyway, anyone who thinks they could come, now’s the time to say so! I’ve made my email available in my profile, so please also feel free to get in touch with me that way with any questions or logistical issues.
what kind of food is it?
All kinds of food, and probably the best rendition you’ve ever had of whatever you order!
They have italian, seafood, tex-mex, cajun, french, thai, and vegetarian food, and fantastic steaks. The chef, Randy, is a genius. He looks like a bouncer, but he invents and prepares the best food you can get in Seattle, in my opinion.
I say this out of true devotion, I’ve been coming to this restaurant since the day I moved to Seattle 10 years ago. We own no part of their business, but Cervaise and I do contribute regularly to their income.
They also make a kick-ass margarita.
What time on Friday? I suggest 7pm, to get the ball rolling.
Hey, i’m from Mt Vernon (About 45 mins north of seattle) This stuff sounds like it would be a blast
Hey CandyBoi! I’m coming down from Bellingham, and I think that rjk is going to bus down from Vancouver to drive down with me. Are you interested in meeting us in Mt. Vernon and driving down with us?
In any case, katrina, include me in when you make reservations. I’ll be emailing you to get directions.
rjk, I don’t work Fridays, so depending on the bus schedule, we could leave at 5PM or even earlier-also depending on what CandyBoi wants to do.
Please, both of you let me know what you want to do.
Pluto, do you know email addresses for lawoot or JayLa? I think they expressed interest in a PNW Dopefest in the earlier thread, and neither has an email address in their profile. It might be nice to let them know we have set a date, in case they haven’t noticed this thread.
November 6 sounds good to me. I’ll see how it sounds to my boss.
Scotti, I’ll check the bus schedules and let you know.
Phew, I just found this thread. I was so afraid I’d get to the end of it and find out I’d missed the party.
I’d love to come. I’ll even see if I can get my own lil’ Boy Next Door to come with me. But I’m confused. Are we talking Oct. 6th or Nov. 6th?
-Leslie
rjk, Girl Next Door-
I believe we had settled on October 6 in Seattle, with the possibility of another on November 18 in Bellingham if JohnnyLA is going to be here then.
Scotti
but there’s nothing IN bellingham what are we going to do, all go to the McDonalds?
GGGRRRRRRR!
JohnnyLA and I are entirely capable of having a DopeFest without you, should you wish to avoid McDonald’s, dear. BTW, I am not certain if we even HAVE them here, having never felt compelled to eat in one.
I forgot-
Yeah, Scotti and I can go down to Arlis’s and drink coffee and eat greasy American diner food.
I’m most definitely in for 6 oct. So, how do we recognize each other? (sent my pic to the people pages a while ago, but they haven’t updated in a while…)
