I’ve got tons of stuff that went undone during the festival, but if people are showing up, I think I can be social.

I was complaining about having nothing to do all day, so I don’t have any excuse to not show up. I don’t know how trivial I am tonight, but I make a fantastic space filler!

We had a sign and everything! Could you not find us? Unfortunately, myself and Lady Cheek were unaware of your post, and Saltire/Cervaise didn’t show until about 7:30, so…

I was there! I found a parking place and everything!
I got there at about 7:15 or so and stayed for about 15 minutes. I thought to myself, “um, they don’t know what I look like, I don’t know what they look like - I don’t know any of their real names and they don’t know mine.” When I got there, I looked around for signs and didn’t see anything. I left because I’m very shy and awkward when I’m in a new place all by myself and I sort of freaked out. No biggy though, I fully intend on attempting this again next week! At least I know where the place is now.
Sounds like you missed the appearance of the sign I brought by mere moments.
And as Aggy says, it’s not like it was our best showing, anyway. We got well and truly thumped. Probably best for all that this wasn’t your introduction to our merry band.

I’m running payroll tonight, so I may show up late or not at all. I won’t know how it’s going until early evening.
I’m hoping to make it, though, because it’s a reasonably nice day and I’ve been looking forward to Outside Trivia for months now.
Yay! Looks like we’ll be getting the band back together at last (I’ve spoken too soon–sure as anything, Cervaise will now post that he can’t come because of payroll, or some such bother).
It even seems like we’re going to have good weather for sitting on the deck (I’ve spoken too soon–sure as anything, a freak hurricane is now forming off Bainbridge and headed toward Fremont).
Pensandfeathers, this looks like your night to join us. If freak weather doesn’t occur, we’ll be on one of the decks (we like them because the air is less smoky and you can hear the speakers better). Unless it’s full-up when our first member arrives, we usually go for the eastern deck (the one for which you turn right inside the pub door). I think, due to our poor recognisablity last week, everyone will bring some sort of sign indicating the Straight Dope group. I’m making one and sticking it in my bag right now, though I most likely won’t be the first to arrive.

The clouds have rolled in and the wind has picked up. Weather.com says we’re not supposed to get showers until “overnight,” but still: grumble grumble.
Okay, I’m tired of being psychic–it can stop now.
Anyway, it ain’t a hurricane, but it isn’t as nice as I expected based on yesterday’s warmth. Personally, I still think it will be a fine evening for deck-sitting, but I know others will differ with me on that.
So, the first doper on the scene gets to make the decision for all of us–to deck or not to deck. If not deck, try for our usual inside area, to the left of the barroom (as you are facing in from the door), on the upper level if possible.
Pensandfeathers, if you show up and feel too shy to just approach random folks who look dopey (heh), just keep your eyes open for a sign on a table. If no one else does, I’ll be bringing one. I plan to get there sometime slightly after 7:00 (though circumstance sometimes gets me there closer to 7:30).
Payroll seems to be going okay, so I’m hoping to get there no later than 7:00. I will also have a sign.
Unless, of course, the rain, thunder, and lightning I’m seeing out my office window is a sign of a very different sort. Not to mention the locusts.
