Actually, it was James II. Bible Fame James was James I.
Big surprise - I’m not in. Sorry.

Aha, but see, by spewing ignorant statements about British royalty, I can get Aguecheek to post again!
Little known fact is that there have been 14 Elizabeths on the throne, but most of them went by ‘Edward.’
Someone from the Fuckin’ As (competing team) told me how it went at the OP last night:
I’m not sorry I missed that.
Also, we’re famous, for a very particular and not-all-that-famous definition of famous.
Sorry to quibble, but I don’t think they used decimal notation back then. I think it would properly be Charilliams II-D/C. Or maybe just Charilliams the Half-a-Vee.
I have to say, I’m somewhat mollified in that the “no guessing” backlash at the G&D was balanced by the avoidance of an even worse experience at the OPq. With the hostess’s prior evening in mind, I honestly don’t know if I would have been able to resist a midgame bailout on a repeat.
Oh, and I have really hairy hands.
That is all.
Yeah, I’m a professional writer, and even I think that a “fix the grammar in the movie title round” sounds deadly. Especially on the heels of a Husky-focused football round on which I’d find a way to score negative points.
Who’s in? I can arrive a very few minutes before 8:00.
I’m planning on being there, probably around 7:30 or so.
I am a stone-cold, dead-lock maybe. With reservations.
Charilliam III/V?
Affirmative. Will be there early.
FYI, I just found out that the quiz started at 7:45 last week – as it did the week before. I believe the bar is pushing to have it start earlier so it’s for-sure over by 10:00.
So get there early, is what I’m saying.
My brother and I can’t be there. Working late again, but it should be the last time until October or so.
So, what are we doing this week? I know there was talk of trying out a new place, in order to avoid another Naomi appearance. My brother and I are up for that, particularly after a week I couldn’t make it.
I think this was being discussed (alternate link), but I don’t know if we have confirmation that they’re holding trivia tonight, the day before the holiday. Assuming it’s a go, it sounds like a promising venue.
I’m pretty sure they’re holding the quiz – the hosts run the quiznight.net site, so I imagine they’d publicize it if they weren’t.
In an ironic twist, however, I’m sick and will not be attending trivia anywhere tonight. Bleah. If you end up going to the Northside and it doesn’t completely suck, we’ll have to go again.
I can’t make it tonight – homework and work-work both call.
I’m in, and I hope a few others are, too – I’m looking forward to the Anne of Green Gables round!
I’m suddenly dealing with a catastrophic payroll fuckup and my availability for tonight is in doubt. To be specific, the paychecks for a prominent technology company are in doubt, and my availability is tied to same.
Can’t you just wave your magic wand and make it all better?
As a matter of fact, that’s almost exactly what I just did. Fixed!
