It’s back and better than ever!

Here are the guidelines (shamelessly copied from previous years) with the relevant info changed:

THE GUIDELINES

1. Gifts should be in the $10 range

2. Gifts should be G-rated
I wanna open mine on Christmas morning, don’t you? If you want something more risque, then post your request. Hopefully, your Secret Santa will comply with your wishes.

3. No one under 18 permitted to participate
Quoth TubaDiva: “Sorry to be grinchy to the younger set, but due to the fact that minors shouldn’t give out their email addresses to strangers (and you have to admit, we’re all pretty strange), the Secret Santa must be limited to adults only.”

HOW TO PLAY

Email me at GreenBeanSD@hotmail.com. (Please use this instead of my regular email address.)

Please include the following:

  1. Screen Name
  2. Real Name
  3. Mailing Address (including country)

DO NOT POST YOUR ADDRESS OR OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION ON THE BOARD

Please send me an individual email for each participant. So, if both members of a couple would like to play, please send me a separate email for each.

If you have multiple email addresses, please send me the information FROM the address you would like the information sent TO. This makes things immeasurably easier for me.

I will reply to your email to let you know that I have received your information. I will randomly assign the Secret Santas. I will send your information only to your Secret Santa.

DEADLINE FOR PARTICIPATION
I must receive your information by Sunday, Nov. 23. You will receive the name and address of your giftee by Wednesday, November 26.

I figure we don’t really need a separate Wish List thread. So, if you have a wish, post it here.

I am going to try to sort them by country/continent. We have had problems with slow international mails, so hopefully we can avoid that this year.

A final thought:
If you aren’t absolutely sure that you’ll be able to get your gift in the mail on time, please be a sport and not participate. Don’t dissapoint your giftee.

Ooh! ooh! me!

One question, Green Bean – should we sign our username to the gift or not? (In other words, how secret should the Santa be?)

If you get me – I love calendars, esp. with landscapes, etc. – if there’s a calendar of your locale, that would be perfect. Also, my totem animal is the flamingo, so anything with flamingos on it would be great.

Or – whatever! surprise me!

Woo hoo! I loves me some Secret Santa action!

I remeber someone last year organized a Valentines Day Card list, Where we added ourselves to a list, and we had to send out cards to everyone on the list. That was super fun! Is anyone organizing the same thing for Christmas Cards? Anyone interested?

But in case anyone is interested, perhaps this might be a good place to mention that I love to read. And I love candy. And it’s always fun to get stuff from a, ahem, correspondent’s home area, especially if they are far away.

Truth to tell, I never put my username when I send the gift because I always thought it should be, well, secret. But I’ll alway end up telling them because they always really want to know.

I’m in. Something kind of unique to your area, please. I don’t mind being paired with someone outside of the US. If it comes late, it comes late. It’ll just feel like Santa realized he forgot a package for me in the sled and since the reindeer were tired, he decided to mail it instead.

There’s really nothing that I need, but I’d like it a lot if you’d hand a few bucks to the next homeless person you meet, or send it to your favorite charity, and spare me a thought while you’re doin’ it.
