I don’t quite understand this. Is it Biden who is qualified to be on the ballot or the Democratic nominee? Because there isn’t a Democratic nominee yet. That won’t happen until the convention.

I’m a big Shakespeare fan, but that speech does nothing for me, nor do I think Branagh comes off as anything other than his usual pretentious self doing it (IMHO).

Yes. The only thing “dumb” that Harris ever did was laugh in a way that some people didn’t like. If the nazis think they’re facing a fool this time, they are going to learn a harsh lesson.

She’s had some fairly bizarre proposals and speeches, not much of a resume in Senate and mixed as AG or DA, and lots of stories of first campaign and then staff unhappiness and infighting. Again, people can point to all that and the rest of her 2020 primary run as reasons why they think she might be a poor choice without getting into race or sex or more superficialities. Heck, she got taken apart by Tulsi Gabbard of all people in a debate.

Fair enough, but there isn’t a single thing that I’ve heard of that people can point to that is outrageous or all that interesting.
Her supposed weakness as Border Czar is probably the biggest thing the opposition have on her. The thing about that, however, is that Biden was a rock-bottom terrible communicator on this issue. Constantly getting pummeled about it and not saying anything at all. Harris can at least talk about it now and present points in her favor. (I actually don’t know what the administration’s position is on the border or their interpretation of their record. Communication has been that bad.)
She been VP for going on four years, however. And from what I’ve seen, she grown into that job and executive branch skills in general.
Trivia note: Assuming that Harris is the nominee, she will be the first Democratic Presidential nominee ever from West of the Mississippi.
That actually sounds fairly damning for the Democrats. Not that it’s stopped them from winning but it sure sounds like a blind spot.
I’d think of it more as an odd coincidence than a blind spot.
