September 23, please, or please get here fast ["Fringe" season premiere]

That or vampires are going to come after Walter and he’s going to give one amnesia and … no, 'tis much too silly.

I wonder if it will tie in with the animated sequence where they were in Olivia’s mind and got chased by zombies.

And the guy that Olivia thought would always kill her. Will they do anything with that, or is that just another dropped plot line?

For shame. And I suppose he’ll be possessed by a centuries dead mad scientist next, huh? The things some people come up with… :stuck_out_tongue:

Well that got answered tonight. Alternate Broyles is back.

This episode was OK, but not that great.

I guess we get to see that Broyles never died and the Olivias are starting to get along better. But I hate filler episodes.

If I had my way, they’d be rare to non-existent.

The whole ‘let’s take him to the other side, he’ll never know the difference’-thing did seem a bit contrived – I mean, they had to figure that there would be something in the house of the man with whom he shared, after all, a substantial amount of memories to tip him off that they’d never recognize or see as relevant. Add to this the millions of tiny inconsistencies that must exist, like technology that we don’t have, non-existent products, etc., and I just can’t buy them sending the professor over there like that.

Half way through, I was sure I’d figured this one out – I thought the killer was using his apparatus in order to confine people within their happiest memories, creating a kind of ‘but I’m really just helping them’-rationalization for his murders. The brain, being cooled down, works slower and slower, re-living that memory, until the final tick… just… never… quite…

I also thought that in the end, perhaps the prof from over here would do the same thing to his murderous alter ego.

I did like the tie in with the whole ‘some people leave an indelible mark on your soul’, though; I still think it was a bit cruel to take Majorie away from the prof, but not as cruel as it would have been had he now been left with all the killer’s emptiness and pain.

I liked it. The uneasy dynamic that’s being developed between the Olivias is intriguing. Also, when Alternate Lincoln and Our Olivia were in the car together (while Fauxlivia was conducting the interview), I got the sense that Alt Lincoln might be looking at Olivia in a romantic way, since he can’t seem to get anywhere with Fauxlivia. If they go that way, that might be intriguing as well.

Also, I liked Astrid’s line to Olivia: “maybe your type doesn’t exist.” Ha! Not any more, anyway.

Question: there was a throwaway line from Alt Lincoln to Fauxlivia about Charlie, about how he’s on the beach somewhere with [someone]. “I’m sorry, Mrs. [someone].” Did anyone catch this? What did he say, and who was he talking about?

He married the bug lady from last season.

Buglady. The one who treated Francis’ arachnid infestation; there’s a line in another episode according to which the two went on a date.

Uh, I really need to learn to preview… or at least refresh threads that’ve been sitting in an open tab for half an hour.

In The AV Club comments someone mentioned Lincoln Mark II as a name for Alt-Lincoln. I like it!

Except, in a weird way, Lincoln from the Red universe was the original one we met, so maybe the Lincoln from the Blue universe is the alt one, even if we usually consider the Blue original and the Red alt?

Fair point, but, Lincoln Mark I is the Lincoln from “our” world. Therefore, introduced later or no, the alternate world Lincoln is “Lincoln Mark II” or whatever you wish to call him.

I really enjoy the alternate universse Broyles, Lincoln, even Astrid, and esp. Fauxlivia. I don’t really miss Peter.

I pretty much feel that this is a very good ensemble cast and the show can go on without just about anybody. Well, maybe not without Walter.

Let’s face it, everything is supposed to revolve around Peter and yet, if any one person is responsible for bringing viewers in then it has to be Walter.

Tonight, I was watching Prime Suspect – the current acting home of Kirk Acevedo, the actor who portrays Charlie – and there was a scene where the detective he plays and a dirtbag are struggling in a stairwell. I really wanted it to be a scene where the dirtbag overpowers him and kills him so that Acevedo would be freed up for full-time Fringe duty. But it didn’t work out that way. Oh, well. With any luck, they’ll be able to squeeze him in. But Bug Lady has to come too, as she’s kinda hot.

I have both episodes on my DVR, but I don’t really feel like watching the show until they resolve what happens with Peter.

Obviously, the best way to get Charlie to come back is for Prime Suspect to be cancelled. so everyone needs to stop watching Prime Suspect.
