Okay – Wednesday, Sept. 22nd, 7 PM at Phil’s Tavern, near the corner of Butler Pike and Rte. 73 (Skippack Pike), in the area known as Broad Axe.
Directions:
Coming from the Blue Route: Go to the last exit, Plymouth Road (the one right before you get on the Turnpike). Go right at the bottom of the ramp. That road deadends at Butler Pike. Turn left. Stay on Butler through the narrow twisty part; it then opens up after you go under the Turnpike (Lulu Temple/Pandora’s workplace). You’ll go a couple or three miles up Butler: light at Stenton, keep going; light at Norristown Road, keep going; as you approach the third light (Skippack), you’ll see Phil’s on your left, but may want to park by the office building on your right, since parking is often at a premium by Phil’s.
From the Turnpike: Go to Fort Washington. Coming out of the exit, just head out straight, you’re dumped onto Pennsylvania Avenue. That deadends at Bethlehem Pike – turn right. Go a couple of miles, through a more or less residential area; as you approach Ambler, you’ll see more businesses. The second light (I think – not gonna swear to the count) is Butler Pike – 7-11, two other gas stations, and a deli. Turn left to go through downtown Ambler. After you get out of Ambler, you’ll cross the railroad, go down a hill, and cross a bridge. The next light is Morris Road. Stay on Butler. A couple of miles after that, the next light is Rte. 73 (Skippack Pike). Just past this intersection, the second bldg. on your right is Phil’s. There’s parking there or at the office bldg. across the street.
From 73 (Skippack): Turn south on Butler Pike (two empty gas stations and the Broad Axe Tavern), it’s just after the Broad Axe tavern on the right.
We don’t need a firm count now – but who thinks they can make it?
