I figured the whole thing was written to basically be a rant so I went with the first choice. While the crime isn’t funny, how it is reported here did have a couple chuckles.
I’ll admit I didn’t bother reading the article linked in the OP because it doesn’t sound like it’s worth my time, but I see a big difference between saying “Chisako Kakehi is a hero” and “Chisako Kakehi is a misandrist hero.”
Unless the author personally identifies as a misandrist (which is unlikely, even people who really are misandrists probably don’t call themselves that) then that’s just saying that Kakehi is admired by people who are prejudiced against men. I wouldn’t consider that to be a compliment. If Kakehi is indeed admired by misandrists then it seems fair to say so, although not having read the article I don’t know if that’s true.
I’m not sure what shocks me more: that she killed eight people or that she got away with it until now.
I fail to see how this bitch is a hero? So inequality is now excuse for murder? I can see how to misandrist hero, but not to regular folks.
It’s a crappy article by a stupid writer who thinks “wedding and dead-ing” is such a good phrase, she uses it twice. For the record, there doesn’t seem to be any actual conversation with Chisako Kakehi. It’s all just speculation. The poll needs an option for “Dumb as fuck”.

The linked article is stupid and sensationalistic (not one of the poll options), and the OP fails to mention that the arrest happened over 9 months ago. I found a NYTimes article, which was much more like a news story.
Side note that economic desperation seems unlikely to have been her (main) motive, since it seems like she accumulated over $8 million from the various dead men.

Right and people who go into churches and kill doctors are heroes. Reverse the roles and see how fucking heroic a man who did the same thing would be.
Junk reporting but then stories from Vice are always uneven. I find their travels stories interesting sometimes but their news stories often leave a lot to be desired and feel more intended to push a viewpoint than to inform.
I think this is what makes it sound like an indictment of the victims instead of the killer. Though in my view, she is trying to indict the society which left these men helpless. Life skills/home Ec. classes are so easy to offer, and many people will volunteer to lead them.
I admit a bit of prejudice on this account. Just based on your description, I was certain that the article was going to be from the Daily Mail. I hope I learned my lesson!
