Series you've recently watched, are now watching or have given up on

Bob?

Hmmm

Trying to get into Perry Mason and I just… can’t. I don’t know if it’s pacing or complexity or whatnot, but it’s an easy show to get distracted during.

I like it, but I like noir and the time period. Most of the later series characters are there: Mason, Della, Hamilton Burger, and Paul Drake. Della’s gay romances are an unnecessary story line, at least so far, and it is a bit slow.

We’ve been rewatching Supernatural at night in the hotel room here. They have UHD 4K TVs, and Supernatural was shot in 4K UHD. It’d really strange. Hard to get used to, but interesting. Even the audio seems different.

Unstable on Netflix starring Rob Lowe and his son was a lot of fun. One of those shows where every character is kooky and funny. Kinda like The Office with no Jim or Pam.

…I don’t think anyone is watching it but me. I posted about it on my socials and not even my close friends even acknowledged it.

“Paul T. Goldman” on Peacock. It’s like a true crime doc mixed with the movies “American Splendor” and “The Disaster Artist.”

It’s incredibly funny and sad.

Is Resident Alien returning???

Googling, Resident Alien was originally renewed for a twelve-episode third season but the order was later cut down to eight episodes. (I take that as a bad sign.)

Thanks. I actually would be fine if they wrap it up well. Some series shouldn’t go on indefinitely.

I’d like to see that too.

That is some bullshit.

I’ve watched the series twice and was very impressed. Enjoyed feels like the wrong word, but I definitely appreciated it. I caught a lot on the second time around that made it all the more impressive.

But I also felt pretty devastated afterward. Chernobyl was both terrifying and fascinating to me growing up (I was 11 when it happened). The show was a lot worse than I had read or imagined in a lot of ways. Learning that the reality was even worse is gut-wrenching.

I’ve been stuck at home with COVID all week, so I’ve had time to catch up on some shows I’ve been meaning to watch. Of course, I may have faded in and out of consciousness a few times, so I may need to re-watch a few before I solidify my opinion…

Reacher (Amazon Prime) - not bad
The Night Agent (Netflix) - on its own, the show is fairly interesting, but it’s WAY over-hyped, IMHO.

I tried to get into The Walking Dead yet again (the 3rd or 4th attempt) and I just couldn’t.

More than anything, I enjoyed Criminal Minds (the Prentiss years) and Supernatural reruns more than anything!

Lucky Hank totally ran out of steam that last episode. An hour of nothing. The previews look like its ready to swerve into The Stoopid. But nice to see Kyle getting a paycheck. I think he needs it.

Is this not the best synopsis of a TV episode you’ve ever read?

I have been watching Beef, a show about two angry, unhappy people who spiral into a cycle of revenge on each other after a road-rage incident.

If a parody of Cabaret and Bob Fosse’s choreography sounds like something you’d enjoy, the first episode of Season 2 of Schmigadoon (Apple TV+) is absolutely brilliant.

We didn’t watch Season 2, but apparently the premise is that this season has moved beyond the bright and happy musicals of the 40’s and into more darker current fare. The season is subtitled “Schmicago”.

I’m not as familiar with musicals like Sweeney Todd and Les Mis so I’m not sure if I’ll get the jokes in upcoming episodes.

Just started watching Rick and Morty. Enjoying it.

Love Rick and Morty!

Oh come now. That boxing match with the goose was worth the price of admission! But are they ever going to show Hank Sr.?
