Series you've recently watched, are now watching or have given up on

I won’t spoil it for you but let’s just say that she might not keep her 100% record on that front this time

I shoulda read that comment before I went looking for a gif, so I’m gonna post it anyway.

Not a spoiler, this is from a cold open:

Anyways…I really liked this season, though I will say Agnes got on my nerves. The actress was great, I really liked what she did with the character, it was the character I didn’t like. I feel like ‘in real life’, someone at some point either would smacked her or, at the very least, told her that everyone is sick her her invisible shtick.
I think what they could’ve done is kept the creepy stalker vibe with Wednesday, but just did the invisible thing around other people at the request of, or for the (perceived) benefit of Wednesday.
I’m also kinda surprised but kinda glad that Wednesday didn’t have a dance routine like she did in the previous season. I’m surprised in that, well, I liked it. I’m glad they skipped it because, even though they pulled it off once, it’s out of character for Wednesday. I did really like what Enid and Agnes did and speaking of dancing being out of character for Wednesday, it’s entirely in character for someone like Enid.

Oh, and I really did like Enid’s (paraphrased) “she really is allergic to color, I thought she was just saying that” comment.

Did they explain why Morticia could see and talk to Weems?

Speaking of Morticia, I saw or read an interview with her where she mentioned, WRT the fencing scene, that, although they did use doubles for some parts, she had already learned to fence for Zorro.

Morticia is psychic.

She is a Dove her mother is a Raven. Wednesday is also a Raven. Premonitions are their thing, one sees the good and the other the evil in the future.

But it’s all Harry Potter with a different IP.

I just discovered and started watching Creature Commandos. It is an adult cartoon written by James Gunn set in the DC universe. It is similar in writing to the second Suicide Squad movie or the Peacemaker show. The first (and only so far) season is only 7 episodes and I have already burned through 4.

I’m making my periodic venture into the past by watching Deadwood, Timothy Oliphant, Ian McShane and a pre-Ray Donovan Paula Malcomson. Mildly entertaining three episodes in.

OMG, yes!

Now give Enid a biiiig hug!!!

In the past two weeks we finished Upload (glad they finished it, a bit uneven but fun) and binge watched North of North (nothing life altering, but far above average and a nice view into a life we’ve never seen). Probably going to pick up Wednesday next, starting from season 1.

Orphan Black just re-appeared on Netflix. The last/only time I’ve watched it was at least 5 years ago. IIRC, I made it about halfway through but didn’t stop for any particularly reason. I know I liked it and I always told myself I’d rewatch it at some point. So we’ll see how far I make it this time.
As an aside, something I do remember about this show was that as soon as I turned it on my dogs (or maybe just one of them) would show up and watch the intro. This and Jeopardy!. I didn’t do anything specific when the show came on (ie let them out, feed them, get myself something to eat etc) and I don’t recall them waiting for me to do something. So far as I could tell, they just seemed to like those theme songs.

Edit:
Found an old picture. I turn on Orphan Black and suddenly there’s a dog in my lap.

I remember stalling in the original run, probably around season 3 or 4. I eventually finished it, but it lingered a very long time on my DVR.

I rewatched it maybe a year or so ago and I found it flew by much better as a binge show, watching it in chunks. For me, anyway. I think I actually liked it better and found the plot a bit more cohesive the second time through. Though the “main character” is still probably my least favorite of the extensive and varied roster of Maslanys.

pleasant surprise Big Timber

Season 3 was the Castors, and I found that season difficult to get through. But I powered through and loved the overall series.

Let me know what you think!

Adapted what?

I watched the first two episodes of Task.

I’m impressed with the depth and backstory of the characters.

Robbie is one F’d up loser. That has endangered a lot of people close to him.

Agent Tom Brandis family story is heartbreaking. He’s certainly not anything like Inspector Lewis Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.). Brandis is much more interesting and is a real character with raw emotions.

The rest of the Task Force is blah. But, I expect that they’ll have more to do in later episodes.

I plan to watch all 7 episodes. I want to know how this complex story ends. I imagine it’s going to be a violent story arc.

Agree with everything you said in your post. As I stated earlier, after Epi 1 there was a lot of backstory that needed to be revealed, and Epi 2 told us a lot of what happened with the Brandis family, as well as what happened to Robbie’s brother, Maeve’s dad.

Complex, indeed!

Thanks for the tip, wouldn’t have watched it without you mentioning it. Fun show!

I’ve been slowly rewatching all of Andromeda (I probably missed lots of them in the original run, so there is no “re” to those) in the background while doing other things. Down to the last 3 episodes of the last season. Overall is is pretty bad. Bad writing, bad acting. Last night I heard someone mention having room to store 700 cubic liters of something.
